@Freemason_UK @CovingtonEDU @monicalatvenas Just because the government is broke doesn’t mean that reallocating a small portion of money to a more worthwhile purpose is flawed.
I said this scenario is hypothetical because I know it will never happen… not to overcome some mythical flaw that you’re claiming.
@Freemason_UK @CovingtonEDU @monicalatvenas I’ve known for a long time that our government is broke.
I wasn’t trying to insult your intelligence… your reply made it seem like you didn’t know what the word meant.
@Freemason_UK @CovingtonEDU @monicalatvenas Last year, the Federal Budget allotted $6.3 trillion and brought in $4.9 trillion in revenues. The defense budget is $2 trillion (1/3 of the total budget).
@Freemason_UK @CovingtonEDU @monicalatvenas We’re not advocating for the increase of the national debt. We are merely putting things in perspective of a reallocation of monies already being spent in the budget.
Yes, I think teachers’ jobs are crucial enough to society to warrant $100K, but this is all hypothetical.
@Freemason_UK @CovingtonEDU @monicalatvenas … and it’s out of control because of the defense budget. Yet, they keep spending more and more on it and the national debt keeps spiraling. The government entities in charge of the national budget clearly don’t care about the national debt.
@Freemason_UK @CovingtonEDU @monicalatvenas Why? Because we believe the education of our country’s children is more important than an infinitesimal portion of the national budget that is spent on defending other countries?
@Freemason_UK @CovingtonEDU @monicalatvenas About 1.9 million public elementary school teachers with an average salary $64K. To pay a $100K salary, it would cost $190 billion… which is $68.5 billion more than is already being paid.
Out of the $2 trillion the US spends on the defense budget, they could find $70 billion.
@barstoolsports Brian Kelly is trash. The way he left Cincinnati destroyed any respect I may have had for him as a coach. Announcing to the team at the season awards banquet that you’re leaving is classless. That’s supposed to be a celebration of the team’s success.
@MrNateDunn @CovingtonEDU That’s a great point! School choice/voucher advocates claim that public school is ineffective and broken, but don’t want to pay the money (through taxes) to fix the system. However, they’ll pander for the government to pay double the amount to send their kids to private school.

@beatgodmilli84@lorider46@HeeeresMookie@yagersports@PFF_College You never asked that.
Fans of all types go to the games: students, alumni, family, and general fans from all over the country who love Buckeye football.
Like I said yesterday, our discussion is done. You admitted that people don’t go to Miami games because they’re not good.
@lorider46@beatgodmilli84@HeeeresMookie@yagersports@PFF_College I do get what you’re saying about people not wanting to drive 4 hours to watch a team that’s not good though. That’s why the traditions I mentioned help the Buckeyes fill the stadium when they’re struggling.
