We are honored!! In 2 weeks, Fredericksburg Schools (VA) will dedicate the new Gladys West Elem. School to recognize the incredible accomplishments of this STEM pioneer! Moreover, I have been invited to represent our team which named our book’s fictitious school after Dr. West!

Dr. Gladys West, the trailblazer who was most responsible for making the calculations that led to the development of GPS and who served as the role model for our recent children’s book, will have an elementary school named after her in Fredericksburg, VA. More news tomorrow!

Awesome that two of my students I taught for two days while subbing in third grade at Roslyn Elementary this week came to the @AbingtonLibrary Local Author Expo today and bought our book! Here is one #stem #minoritiesinstem #kidsinstem #engineeringdesign #designprocess
