STES Rocketry Team India ๐ฎ๐ณ
Building rockets Breaking barriers
Home of Indias first student built liq. rocket engine from concept to launch, built by students
Looking back at Narlikar ๐
Named in honor of Jayant Narlikar, this was the engine laid the foundation for our liquid propulsion program
On 19 July 2025, Narlikar roared to life in a 1kN hotfire producing brilliant mach diamonds
Every engine has a story. This is where ours began
Rocketry is amazing.
Until it's 2 AM and you're carrying iron barricades, assembling trusses moving tanks and tightening straps because a 3 kN rocket engine has strong opinions about staying attached to Earth
People see the fire
The team remembers the lifting

The aftermath. ๐ฅ
Just 6 seconds of burn time.
The exhaust plume displaced dust across the test site, leaving behind a distinct V shaped pattern on the ground.
A reminder of the energy released during Narlikar's hot fire. ๐

Standing tall under the night sky, our champions Sahasra and Vikrant remind us how far we've come. ๐
After carrying our dreams to the world stage at LASC Brazil, they now look ahead to their successor, Dhawan, ready for its turn to reach the skies. โจ
@ShriKaranHanda There are AI tools, but unlike software, you can't just hit "run" and see if it works.
A lot of the work involves hardware validation, test equipment, datasheets, and real world constraints that are difficult for current AI tools to reason about reliably.
@Ecsplode@VazeKshitij More of a flight computer for our Rocket than a typical drone flight computer , It handles telemetry, data logging, navigation, recovery, and control surface actuations
Thank you!
The PCB is just the tip of the iceberg. Other than board much larger effort involving propulsion, structures, recovery, manufacturing, testing, and a team constantly pushing to improve.
We're proud of how far we've come, but we're even more excited about what's next.
An unforgettable LASC 2025 for STES Rocketry. Two rockets, two major wins.
Our student-built rocket Sahasra secured 3rd place in the Solid category, demonstrating the engineering. It reached its intended apogee with precision and recovered flawlessly.

0402 components are cool until one jumps off the tweezers and enters another dimension ๐ญ
First time soldered them today ๐
A solid 50% of the work was just trying not to loose component on the table and flip them
