▶️ It manifests as a large, slightly elliptical dome approximately 40 kilometers in diameter.
Characterized by concentric rings of exposed sedimentary rock layers that create a striking bull's-eye pattern visible from space.
These layers range from Late Proterozoic to Ordovician in age, with the innermost parts revealing older strata due to erosion.

▪️ While the central depression a limestone-dolomite shelf enclosing a kilometer-scale siliceous mega-breccia.
▪️ This breccia is a chaotic mix of angular fragments cemented by silica, often altered by hydrothermal processes that introduced minerals like authigenic potassium feldspar.
▪️ Intrusive elements include gabbroic ring dikes, carbonatite dikes and sills, kimberlitic plugs, and alkaline volcanic rocks such as rhyolites and basalts, reflecting a bimodal tholeiitic-alkaline composition.

Alongside minor apatite and pyrochlore, and kimberlites containing olivine, phlogopite, and perovskite phenocrysts in a groundmass of serpentine and carbonate.
▶️ This structure formed during the Cretaceous period, around 94 to 104 million years ago, as an isolated alkaline-hydrothermal complex.
▪️ It originated from the intrusion of a large magmatic body beneath the sedimentary sequence, causing doming and uplift of the overlying rocks into an anticline.
▪️ Magmatic activity involved the emplacement of tholeiitic gabbroic dikes and rhyolitic centers, followed by carbonatitic and kimberlitic injections that crosscut earlier features.
▪️ Hydrothermal fluids associated with this magmatism led to karstification, dissolving limestones, and creating voids filled by the siliceous breccia through low-temperature silica precipitation.
▪️ Over time, differential erosion sculpted the dome: resistant layers like quartzite formed ridges, while softer shales and altered zones eroded into valleys, enhancing the concentric appearance.
