“confidence and cockiness are two different things, mister.”
gwen hums, leaning her head into his shoulder lightly.
“me either. it’s perfect. like you.”
“i always make the best choices no matter what.”
he grins, taking his mask off as well and placing it on the ground.
“these views are always the best.” peter wraps his arm around gwen.
peter swings throughout the city for a few minutes before making his way to the empire state building.
he jumps up onto the rooftop, waiting patiently for gwen as she was right after him.
“no we won’t at all.”
he shrugs, also looking at the city to see where to go.
“alright, follow me.” peter says, mask back on now as he jumps off the building and thwips away.
“really? i don’t know about that. maybe, i guess i’ll have to take your word for it.”
peter teases, acting as though he was upset about her little trick.
“perfect. what building do you want to go to?”
“i think i heard though, they were about this tall, blonde, and really amazing. what a shame.”
she holds a hand up next to her forehead, stifling back a giggle.
“i’d like that a lot.”
“alright, just checking in. guess we’ll have to find out soon who it was.”
peter loved how the two could joke around like this with one another.
“i was thinking we’ll head to the rooftops and watch the sunset?”
“i will! but first, you have any ideas on who it might be? i got no ideas myself.”
after pushing her hair back he grins to himself, just gazing at her. how did he get so lucky?
“i have no idea, no. but i’m pretty scared. what if they’re still running around the streets?”
peter takes his other hand and brushes gwen’s hair back behind her ear.
“uh oh! i better watch out!”
peter pretends to be scared and in trouble, acting as if she was going to take him away.
“hey?” he takes a deep breath in, sighing. “oh my gosh, you won’t believe what just happened. i almost got kidnapped!”
“oh no, really? guess you caught me. what am i ever going to do?”
peter knew who it was, it was fairly obvious. besides, an actual criminal wasn’t going to do this to him.
a small giggle slips out, but she quickly covers it up again. sliding her hands out to the side slightly.
“a very, very bad criminal. i’ve come to take you to my evil lair.”
“let me guess, a criminal?”
peter teases, seeing the white outline of her gloved over his eyes at the moment. he knew who it was, he felt her sneak up behind him.
“i know, i’m just making sure. don’t want you to get hurt.” could she blame him for wanting to make sure she’s safe?
“i know you would, that’s why i won’t. that’s for after you go to sleep then.” he chuckles.
“yeah yeah, until you get hurt it’s fun.” peter rolls his eyes, squeezing her hand once their fingers were interlaced.
“aww babe. don’t make me cry on the web hammock.”
“hey! don’t do that! lean over the edge, you can call me your hero anytime you want to.”
he laughs even more, moving them away from the edge and towards the center of the hammock.
gwen chuckles, moving an arm to hang over the edge of the hammock playfully.
“that’s sweet. my hero.” she says it extra dramatically to tease, interrupted by giggling.
