I agree with you that the police are there to uphold the law, maintain order and keep us safe. Nobody is disputing that, and of course professionalism is important.
But I also think there’s a time and a place for officers to let their guard down a little and show they’re human too. At an event like this, being approachable, having a bit of fun and interacting with the public can actually be a good thing.
There’s a difference between being unprofessional and simply engaging with people in a friendly way. Surely building a good relationship with the public is part of policing too? It doesn’t always have to be about being serious 24/7
Sometimes I do random acts of kindness. Such as not punching people that stop dead in front of you when you're walking through a busy Charing Cross Road. See, I am a nice person 😇
On this day in 1997 I came home to the terrible news that my Tamagotchi had died 😭 still miss that little guy.
A tragic day in history.
1997–1997 — Fed, loved, neglected for 20 minutes, and tragically gone too soon. 😭🥚🪦💔
I asked my daughter to give me the phone book. She laughed at me and called me a dinosaur and lent me her iPhone.
So the spider is dead, the iPhone is broken and my daughter is furious….
