You can add some light flashes using Resolume's Levels effect and random playback on the beat, and you’ve got a simple, audio-reactive mix. I'm using Resolume here to mix the loops but this works in any layering setup. LMK if you have any questions or feedback.

One trick I use when creating content that helps my mixes look more believable. I create the loop of the character lit with a rim light (backlight) so then when i put it on top of a background that has a look of a 'light source’ - it makes the whole mix feel way more believable.
