"I’m sorry to the actors who were hurt because of the post I wrote yesterday. Reading IU’s SNS post and actor Byun’s handwritten letter really broke my heart.

I wrote that we need to improve the system so things like this don’t keep happening, but it seems like the backlash has been misdirected to the wrong places.

Even I sometimes get confused with historical terms. It’s unreasonable to expect actors to understand such specialized terminology and context.

The historical accuracy system should act like solid armor that protects the actors, but it’s always been loose and unreliable, which makes things uneasy. That’s why I suggested we stop turning actors into scapegoats and instead consider creating a historical consulting institute. If we do that, the actors we love won’t have to go through these difficult situations again.

Rather than attacking people, I hope we can focus our collective energy on building a stronger system for historical accuracy."
