@churchtalkative Got to love the reminder that I am not a Christian. The arbitrary rules that one group or an another puts in to place to gate keep a title blows my mind. I think we are focused on the wrong thing.

@MaeOfFable @DPGBehler This too is incorrect, as a member you can either choose to pay as a household or pay separately. The church does not command one way or the other. Tithing has nothing to do with salvation, since salvation is by grace through faith.

Listening to a sermon of a local pastor. He taught that when God looks down upon a saved Christian he only sees the blood of Christ and that they are justified. He taught this to the Christian who feels guilty for how they live their life.

How is this not a license to sin?

@wendelltalks As long as we agree that it is okay for one text to contradict another. It might be accurate based on the understanding of the writer at that time but could be later determined not to be accurate.
As understanding progresses something’s once held as truth no longer are.

Not sure how Christians feel like they have the authority to gate keep and establish who is and isn’t a Christian. I would rather not be included with that group of limited thought.

It is odd to believe that God created humans without consent into sin. Doesn’t seem like humans have free will.

It is a collection of old texts that will sit on a shelf until someone reads and interprets them.

I only submit to God, not texts, sounds like the Bible is your God.
