This week in 1841 Sir Cuthbert Quilter was born. Quilter was a politician who in 1886 begun work on his country home Bawdsey Manor, adding more in the 1890s.
From 1936, radar was developed in top secret behind the Manor’s impressive facade,by then owned by the Air Ministry.
