It's clock time again! Let's spring forward one hour at 2am Sunday! This is the time where we replace those smoke and carbon monoxide alarm batteries or check the expiration date of those with permanent batteries. As always, do your monthly test to make sure they are working.
Sunriver It looks like it is finally going to feel like winter...just when you thought winter driving was over! There is a Winter Weather Advisory through 10pm Tuesday and it looks like chances of snow for several days. Remember it may be slick so use caution when driving.
Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's legacy of service, courage and dedication to protecting and uplifting all members of our community. In observance, the Fire Department lobby will be closed, however all emergency and fire services are available.
Winter is beautiful in the High Desert but it complicates safe driving. Do your part to stay aware of road conditions before venturing out and make sure your vehicle is equipped to handle them. Sometimes the right answer is to not go and wait for the storm to pass.

It's holiday safety tip time! Candles can add such a beautiful ambiance to a room but left unattended or near something flammable they can turn ambiance into disaster. Check those candles before leaving and have a wonderful holiday season!
It's that time of year! Unplug those lights when going to bed and don't forget to give that tree a drink of water every day. Enjoy the early part of holiday season!
Tree time? If you are getting a tree to decorate for the holidays make sure to keep the base water reservoir full and keep the tree away from sources of fire (fireplaces, candles, portable heaters, etc.). Have fun getting in holiday mode!
