Advocating for East Turkistan's independence/freedom | Pursuing international recognition to end Chinese colonization, occupation and genocide | Focus on Sweden
The world united for #Ukraine against Russia's invasion.
The world stands with #Palestine in their struggle.
But where is the global response to #China's ongoing genocide in #EastTurkistan?
All nations, especially the #Muslim world must rise against this injustice. China's size can’t be a problem, because Russia’ size didn't stop the world before.
#Millions of innocent East Turkistani people suffer daily in camps, from children to the elderly. Torture, starvation, brainwashing, forced labor, sterilization, organ harvesting—the list goes on. Families torn apart, lives lost. Isn't this enough to act? Where is the world's #humanity?
#EndUyghurGenocide
#CCPChina
The Swedish Uyghur Committee expresses grave concern over the death sentences recently imposed by the Bangkok South Criminal Court on two Uyghur men in connection with the 2015 Erawan Shrine bombing.
Twenty innocent people lost their lives in that attack, and their families deserve truth and justice. But justice is not only about a verdict, it also depends on public confidence that the process was independent, transparent, and free from political influence.
That confidence cannot simply be assumed.
The concern is underscored by Thailand’s broader record. In 2015, the same country deported more than 100 Uyghurs to China despite international warnings about the risk they faced. Again in 2025, more than 40 Uyghur refugees were deported, despite widespread concern that they would be returned to serious harm and death. Many of those previously returned have since disappeared from independent scrutiny, leaving families and human rights advocates without answers.
At the same time, the Chinese government has spent years promoting a narrative linking Uyghurs to extremism and terrorism, an approach that has been used to justify China’s ongoing genocide against Uyghurs in occupied East Turkistan. Under the framework of “counter-terrorism,” millions of Uyghurs, including intellectuals, religious leaders, parents, students, and the elderly, have been detained in a vast network of concentration camps. Where they face unimaginable abuse, including torture, sexual violence, forced indoctrination, forced labor, organ harvesting, and other serious violations.
Beyond these prisons and camps, #Uyghurs continue to live under an extensive system of surveillance and social control. Families have been separated, children placed apart from their parents, and cultural and religious practices heavily restricted. In many cases, communities have been pressured to abandon their language, traditions, and identity. The result, critics argue, is not only political control but the gradual erasure of a people’s cultural and collective existence in their homeland.
Against this backdrop, difficult but necessary questions arise. Can a case involving Uyghur defendants be fully separated from the broader political environment in which narratives about Uyghurs have been heavily shaped by state interests? Can concerns about fairness be dismissed when the proceedings took place in a country where cooperation with the CCP on Uyghur deportations has previously occurred?
After a process spanning more than a decade, serious questions remain about transparency, due process, and the broader network of individuals originally linked to the attack. When the death penalty is at stake, such questions become even more critical.
This is not about excusing violence or presuming innocence. It is about insisting that justice must meet the highest standard of proof, not only in law, but also in public confidence.
The international community should therefore call for full transparency, independent international review of the evidence, and close monitoring of all ongoing and future appeal proceedings.
The world owes that to the victims, to the accused, and to the pursuit of truth and #justice.
Eid al-Adha Mubarak! As we celebrate with our loved ones in happiness and joy, let us not forget our Uyghur brothers and sisters in East Turkistan, who have endured oppression, persecution, and genocide under Chinese occupation since 1949. Keep them in your prayers and never let their suffering be forgotten.
Hopefully one day, we will be celebrating Eid in our own independent homeland with our lost families.

Scenes from the #Eid celebration organized by the Swedish Uyghur Committee, where Uyghurs came together in unity to mark Eid al-Fitr.
In a time when millions of our #Uyghur brothers and sisters in occupied #EastTurkistan are enduring unimaginable suffering, genocide, and loss, we were reminded of the deep importance of standing together in exile. By preserving our identity, strengthening our solidarity, and raising our voices for those who cannot. In hope of restoring East Turkistan’s independence soon.

#EidMubarak to all!
May Allah bless you and your loved ones with peace, joy, and freedom.
As we celebrate, let us not forget the millions of #Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in occupied #EastTurkistan, trapped in concentration camps, forced labor factories, and unmarked graves. Let’s not forget those dying and suffering under China’s relentless genocide and colonial rule. Their families are torn apart, their mosques destroyed, their very existence criminalized.
Their voices are silenced, but ours are not.
This Eid, let us remember East Turkistan.
Remember the ongoing genocide.
Remember the colonial occupation.
May Allah grant freedom to East Turkistan and restore the independence that is rightfully theirs.

During the protest earlier this week, Uyghurs from the Swedish Uyghur Committee joined Tibetan communities for Tibet Uprising Day. @EpochTimesSWE was there and has now published an article interviewing Arman Samsak from the Committee, sharing our story and cause.
Main quotes during the interview:
“My uncles and aunts are in concentration camps. My whole family is there. We haven’t had contact for years. I have a brother who should be 26 now. I don’t know if he is alive or dead.”
“If countries around the world recognize China’s genocide against Uyghurs and recognize East Turkistan as an occupied country, pressure can be put on China. That way we can demand our country, our independence and freedom back. ”
”The world already knows what’s happening, there’s already enough evidence from their own police archives, from survivor testimonies and leaked documents”
What’s the difference between ”Xinjiang” and ”East Turkistan”?
“East Turkistan was an independent state. Declaring independence in 1944, the last time. In 1949 China invaded and occupied it again, and changed the name to Xinjiang to erase our identity.”
“Selling products made through forced labor is being part of the crimes against Uyghurs.”
-Arman Samsak

Remembering and honoring Abduhaliq Uyghur, an intellectual poet who mastered many languages and studied literature far and wide.
He devoted his life to awakening the Uyghur people against occupation, warning them of the oppression.
His words live on even after he was brutally executed in public, beheaded in front of everyone to terrorize the Uyghur community.
We will never forget him, and we will never forgive the atrocities committed by the Chinese in occupied East Turkistan, both in history but also their ongoing genocide today.
His poems continue to live on, inspiring resistance, our independence and keeping the truth alive.

Today we protested in solidarity with Swedish Tibetans and Taiwanese on Tibetan Uprising Day, marching from the Swedish parliament to the city center of Stockholm.
As Uyghurs advocating for the recognition of the genocide and occupation in East Turkistan, and striving for the restoration of East Turkistan’s independence, we stood together with Tibetans and Taiwanese against the imperialist Chinese state, and for our independence, freedom, and justice.
We would additionally want to thank @MarkusWiechel once again for recognizing East Turkistan and standing up for Uyghurs during his speech and participation.
We are grateful to our partners and proud to stand together. @tibetkommitten

On #InternationalWomensDay, remember Uyghur women in occupied East Turkistan.
Girls, mothers, grandmothers: detained in concentration camps, tortured, sexually abused, sterilized, starved, & organ harvested.
Others forced into marriages with filthy Han Chinese men.
