California’s Top Two: A Tale of Two Republican Gubernatorial Candidates

Was the Top Two Jungle Primary Act an evil Democrat plot? Actually, it was a REPUBLICAN Plan!!!! In 2010, we Republicans were told to support Prop 14, because we would get more “moderate” candidates. How do you think it is working out? Since Prop 14 took effect on January 1, 2011, we have only elected LEFT WING Democrats as Governors.

With Republicans now pushing to get behind Hilton so we’ll get a candidate in the TOP TWO, it is about to be Déjà Vu All Over Again!

A Look Back at How We Ended Up with TOP TWO.

Prior to January 1, 2011, when the Top Two Candidates Open Primary Act took effect, the California Constitution enabled Republicans and Democrats to elect their respective candidates for Partisan Offices in the PRIMARY election. The Republican and the Democrat would face off in the GENERAL ELECTION. Partisan Offices included Governor, State Senate, State Assembly and other statewide partisan offices. That means prior to 2011, we always had a Republican and a Democrat facing off in the general election.

Seems fair? Why amend the California Constitution to change it?

Recall of Grey Davis. In 2003, we finally were successful in getting the RECALL of Democrat Governor Grey Davis on the ballot. In a special election on Oct 7th, California voters had to make two decisions: (1) Should Governor Davis be recalled, and (2) If recalled, who should replace him as Governor. There were three choices for replacement:
· Bodybuilder and actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger (Republican) who had absolutely no political experience in governance.
· State Senator Tom McClintock (Republican) who had served in the State Assembly and at that time had 7 years as a conservative voice in the Legislature.
· Cruz Bustamante (Democrat)

Then…Déjà Vu…All Over Again!

The “moderate” Republicans started the drum beat…. ”we can’t split the vote”. Who did they push for? Arnold Schwarzenegger with no political experience. I fell into that trap…voted for Arnold. In retrospect it was obvious that the “moderate” Republicans did not want Tom McClintock because he was “too conservative” for them. The “moderate” Republicans wanted someone they could control and Arnold was “perfect”. As a rookie to government, he would do whatever they asked.

Arnold was reelected in 2006. Struggling to get his 2007 budget passed, he traded “moderate Republican” Abel Maldonado’s vote to approve his budget on the promise that he would allow what became Prop 14 on the 2010 ballot.

The “Republican” Billionaire Booster, who had continued to seek to weaken the Republican Party, finally scored a victory. The millions poured into Schwarzenegger’s campaign finally paid off.

Funds could now be focused on getting voters to change the Constitution of California to the TOP TWO PRIMARY SYSTEM allowing the top 2 vote-getters in the Primary to advance to the General Election regardless of party affiliation.

Again, in 2010 Republicans were bombarded and urged to vote YES on Prop 14. It was a REPUBLICAN effort paid for by a very wealthy “REPUBLICAN” to weaken the Republican Party. Go figure!

Forward to TODAY

Those same voices that pushed the election of Arnold Schwarzenegger are once again screaming about “NOT SPLITTING THE REPUBLICAN VOTE”.

Everyone needs to look at the two Republican Candidates for Governor and determine which one has the most experience in California governance to step into the office of Governor on Day 1. Choose wisely.

California is trying to pass a bill that would criminalize investigative journalism with misdemeanors, $10,000 fines, imprisonment, and content takedown.

The proposed bill is titled AB 2624 and was made after I exposed mass fraud by immigrant groups in America.

Under AB 2624, government-funded entities like the Somali “Learing” Daycare centers would be protected from being exposed if they operated inside California.

The enemy truly is within. When our politicians would rather protect fraudsters and illegal migrants, it’s time for us to stand up or face mass oppression from the traitors who “rule” over us.

In yet another twist, the County of Santa Clara has sent out THREE mailers in support of Measure A.  This is a violation of FPPC (Fair Political Practices Commission) which regulates campaign activities.  The violation occurs when any campaign materials are sent out to the public without the proper disclosures, stating who paid for them.   Jeff Rosen, District attorney for SC County sent out a mailer last week in support of Measure A stating the name of the organization who paid for the flyer (Sheriffs and some attorney types...).

In the case of SC County, their three flyers were done at taxpayer expense and have no disclosure statement on them.  Pure corruption and a mis-leading of the public.

Rishi Kumar and his group filed a lawsuit against the County (details not known, but Rishi is always happy to discuss...)

Two weeks ago, SVGOP filed a complaint with the FPPC and we are now working with them on this issue.  More details to follow, but this will end up in front of a judge within a few weeks.

Either way, the County has demonstrated that it believes it is above the fray and can do whatever they want to quench their thirst for more taxpayer money, while never admitting that they have a spending problem.  This IS THE PROBLEM, plain and simple.

The county needs to come clean on this one.  SVGOP (and likely Rishi and his group too) will continue to demand transparency and hold the Board of Supervisors and anyone in favor of Measure A's feet to the fire.

Vote NO on Measure A.

I hear so many people say things like "Just give up on California."

"Let it sink into the ocean."

40% of Californians voted for Trump in 2024.

Millions and millions of people want to fix this place.

10% isn't a large percentage considering how rigged California elections are.

It is possible to flip California.

We need a massive effort to unrig the system, which is already under way.

Voter roles are being scrubbed.

A push for voter ID is in full swing.

We need to get rid of mail in ballots and ballot harvesting, etc.

We also need to have rational conversations with people, and convince 11% of voters why voting for Democrats has destroyed California.

We also need to do this without being assholes.

I know it's hard after the way conservatives have been treated, especially those who refused the shot, but we need to make an effort.

Not everyone here is insane.

Most people are - politically - somewhere in the middle, but they keep quiet.

The extremely loud leftist maniacs, and the psychopaths controlling the government make it seem far worse than it actually is.

They are a minority, and the margin is much closer than people realize.

If you're not willing to fight to save one of the most beautiful places on earth, that produces a massive amount of food, has a giant economy, has extremely important ports and strategic military bases, then you're lazy.

What happens in California ultimately spreads to the rest of the country.

If you give up on California, then you give up on America as well.
