3 years 7 months 13 days old Sarwagya Singh Kushwaha of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh become the youngest FIDE Rapid Rated player

The little Sarwagya got a Rapid Rating of 1572 in December 2025 FIDE Rating list.

His debut Rapid Rating tournament was 24th RCC Rapid Rated Cup in September where he defeated a 1542 rated player. Then he won against 1559-rated opponent at 2nd Shri Dadaji Dhuniwale Rapid Rating Open in October in his homestate MP at Khandwa.

In the month of November, played two rapid rating tournaments in Chhindwara and Indore. He defeated the same 1542-rated player in the first one and a 1696-rated in the following one, to earn his first rating.

After Anish Sarkar last year, another 3 year-old Indian has created a record. Chess keeps getting younger by the day.

Congratulations to Sarwagya, his family and his coach. We will be keeping a keen eye on this budding talent in the years to come.
