Most people thought Spurs had elite help for Wemby and depth because they played so well with him out/off the bench. Also were almost the first team with 8 *qualifying* players averaging 10.

Spurs adjustments for game 3:
1. Kornet needs to play with a Hartenstein-like style. Gortat screens and sealing inside to open up driving lanes. This will buy Wemby valuable rest minutes.
2. Look for more rolling actions for Wemby. Only 1 lob thrown to him in game 2 I believe

When the entire game is played with double the physicality of a normal game, the written rulebook and textbook foul calls mean nothing.

It’s great to see that every incorrect call is a missed call. Let them play as long as nobody is rising injury out there

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources.

1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks.

2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently.

3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

Another possible fix is to not only do the lottery 1-4 but 1-14 so bad teams have a chance to drop really far so tanking for 1 or 2 lower spots in the standings is less valuable

You want a fix for tanking. Here it is.

Weighted Lottery Odds after the season is finished.

For example reducing pick odds because a team has consistently had high lottery picks or reducing odds if the team has performed well recently and hasn’t had roster changes.

Now imagine the above but if the NBA came together, researched and created a proper algorithm for it.

It would reward tanking less as continuous tanking teams are punished, actual bad teams get slightly increased odds and teams having a down year are less likely to pick high
