Good to join BBC Politics West today to reflect on what it’s like being part of a Budget.
A budget is a difficult task for any Chancellor - who is often in the lonely position of having to juggle everything at once. Good luck to John and his team this Budget week!
Wasting Police time should be the offence considered at the end of this

To everyone getting their knickers in a twist…
All because @andyburnham suggested a sensible conversation about freedom of movement
…do you perhaps need reminding of this?
Lula victory speech:
"We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate.
We cannot have monstrously huge corporations earning millions & billions, paying no taxes to this country & trying to steer this country's election results."
Brilliant win for progressive politics in Brazil. Anyone who says the slide to the right, in world affairs is inevitable - check this..:)

Just to be clear, as I don’t see a lot of folks pointing this out or acknowledging this: Bolsonaro also formally asked for polling stations to be kept open another two hours!
Private equity buys UK fertility clinics.
PE controls social care, hospitals, GP surgeries, dentistry, child fostering.
Usual business model. High debt, quality of care declines, prices increase, high profits.

The Budget is in three days time. What have Reform spent the last week doing. Attacking Andy Burnham for not stopping riots in France, and calling the police on ITN. And they wonder why Labour and the Tories are surging in the polls, while they’re tanking…
JD Vance YESTERDAY: "We have underestimated Iran and we spent $30 billion on war."
Obama TODAY: "All this to stop a nuke that didn’t exist and to open a Strait that wasn’t closed."
The most important thing today is that Starlink and Starshield operations have been restored to the speeds we had before the restrictions. The speeds are now where they need to be. The restoration began overnight, and by this morning, speeds were already sufficient. This matters: for our frontline logistics, for defending Ukraine against jet-powered “shaheds.”
I thank all Americans and all our partners who took this seriously and truly helped – members of Congress, senators, all the media, the State Department, and the President. Protecting lives matters.
A nightmare for Putin and his tools like Musk, Farage, Le Pen and the AfD - Indefatigable Georgians waving St. George's Crosses, EU flags, and a Ukrainian flag in resistance to the ruling Putinist regime.
🚨 NEW: Respect Orders are now live across England and Wales

Flávio Bolsonaro wants Brazil’s election annulled because, he claims, Lula “changed the rules halfway through the game” by extending voting hours.
There’s just one rather inconvenient detail. Bolsonaro’s own campaign ALSO requested an extension!
His request covered specific areas, while Lula’s was nationwide, but both wanted voting hours extended.
Now, having lost by 4.4 million votes, he wants the result overturned over a measure his own campaign supported.
Quite extraordinary.
It’s perfect. Mutual Free Movement means the job market just gets a lot bigger for them.
They may even gain broader experiences and bring back transferable skills.
