The donation drive is a contest for Battle of the Classes points as well as a school-wide challenge for each class to donate at least 200 items to win a surprise reward for the day before Winter Break. 😎 🎉

December is Giving Month & ALL students at Southwestern High are invited to HELP SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER via a HOLIDAY DONATION DRIVE facilitated by the Student Council. 🏫 ❄️ 🛒🛍️

Items will be donated to the three schools in our district (ES/MS/HS) as well as the St Susan Center.

Thank you to the Lakewood Fire Department for visiting Southwestern High School on Monday, December 8, 2025, for a presentation in physical education teacher Jenna Clauson’s first aid/CPR/AED class. 🚒

Students in grades 10-11 were shown a live call of someone in cardiac arrest and steps of how to treat and prevent a heart attack. The first responders brought in a LUCAS machine to demonstrate how they give CPR in the back of an ambulance.

▪️All AP art students will host a private exhibition in the main hall of SWHS in May 2026, showcasing the sustained investigations they’ve developed throughout the academic year. 🏫
