Happy Veterans Day!
"Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor." Romans_13:7
As we wrap up a message and small group series entitled "Dangerous Prayers," we dare others to pray the exciting, bold prayer of the Prophet Isaiah:
“Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah_6:8nlt
Are you willing to be sent to serve across the hall, the street, the region, or the world?
... taking, as Jesus did this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen." ~Reinhold Niebuhr
Serenity Prayer (Full Version): "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace...
"Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." 2Timothy_2:1-2_niv
During Vision Night (Saturday), our Connections Minister (Rocky LaPrade) shared a compelling vision with current small group leaders to invest their lives in developing future leaders at Southwest! It is not simply about growing in your faith, it is crucial to invest in others!
Sunday (Sept 26) is a specially planned conclusion to a three week series on Dangerous Prayers. You won't want to miss this service either in person at 9:45 or 11am or check out the 9:45am livestream @

This weekend, Southwest will be concluding our three week series entitled "Dangerous Prayers." You won't want to miss this Sunday, September 26th worship services (9:45 & 11 am) at 150 Remick Blvd. Springboro, OH. Search Me; Break Me; Send Me!
The following words (from Psalm 82) serve as both a reminder to pray and help the oppressed:
“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people." Psalm_82:3,4nlt
This weekend, we will meet a representative of one of our newest mission partners, Oasis House. Oasis House ministers to young women who have been trapped in sex trafficking. You won't want to miss this weekend, as we learn and pray about the good work being done at Oasis House!
We embrace the spirit of the earliest Jesus followers and devote ourselves to meet with each other throughout the week. This Sunday there will be two opportunities to meet others and find a small group that works for you! Don't miss this opportunity to make a real connection!
Remember...
"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews_10:24-25niv
A major aspect of following Jesus is living out the "one another" teachings of the Bible. These teachings include: encourage, challenge, love, teach, and carry each other's burdens. A very practical way to put these teachings in practice is to participate in a weekly small group!
In drawing near to God, we find peace, confidence and assurance!
"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water." Heb10:22
Remember to place your security in Jesus' perfect sacrifice instead of your imperfect obedience to God!
"For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy." Hebrews_10:14niv
Sunday, Sept 19 (9:45 & 11 am), Southwest will look at another Dangerous Prayer that can change your life and relationships for the better. If you aren't able to attend in-person, check out the 9:45am livestream at https://t.co/TQ04pYNCum
"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever." Psalm_107:1
We are thankful for God enabling us to purchase land for our partner church in El Salvador. We are grateful for the container arriving which will become a part of a future church building.
It takes great courage to pray the prayers recorded in the Bible. Are you willing to pray dangerous prayers?
"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm139:23,24niv
This Saturday, Sept. 18 we will offer a Men's Breakfast as an oportunity to connect with other men at Southwest. As the Bible states... "how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!" Psalm133:1_esv
