I'll be happier to see actual plans for Bradford that don't involve it trying to compete with Leeds or Halifax... especially for a marketing vanity project.

Bradford's new 'City Village' will see the Oastler Shopping Centre (the old John Street Market) demolished in late 2025 and the Kirkgate Shopping Centre demolished in 2026.

While we're on it, there is a #Bradford2025 sticker on the ghost of a great restaurant chain who, in their own way, provided us with...wait for it...culture...! ✨

Promoting the city of culture on a dead building tells you everything. Shameful.

One of our major pop-culture brands, @GAMEdigital, is leaving @TheBroadwayBrad this Saturday. Not even moving into it's parent store; just GOING. Staff are distraught. Another long-standing business leaving Bradford in time for @bradford2025...

But this is cool too, I guess.

Had to see the B25 account, following the depressing Bradford Live news, which follows long-standing GAME closing at the end of Nov, which itself follows M&S' departure.

The culture from the 'city of culture' is disappearing. Businesses do not want to invest in the city.

Ten years ago, I was optimistic about Bradford...Even thinking it was going to have a 'renaissance' and Bradford Live was a huge part of that. This year, the only thing I have had optimism for is Bradford Live... :/
