Starting tomorrow (03/10), bridge repairs will begin on U.S. 83 just south of Garden City. Expect one-lane traffic directed by a pilot car, and please note that a 14ft width restriction will be in place. Work starts at 9am and is expected to be completed by the end of this week.

TRAFFIC ALERT: SYRACUSE
U.S. 50 is CLOSED approximately one mile east of Syracuse due to a crash. Please use alternate routes and expect delays. At this time, there are no estimates when the roadway will reopen. Please slow down and watch for emergency personnel working the scene

KDOT has closed the rest area near the K-23/K-156 junction east in Finney County for maintenance.
The rest area and parking lot, which is about 21 miles east of the Garden City area, should reopen on March 6, conditions permitting.

Guardrail improvement project to begin March 2 south of Dodge City on U.S. 56, approximately half a mile west of the U.S. 56/108 Road junction, southwest of Dodge City. Motorists should expect potential delays of up to 10 minutes. Traffic will be directed through the work zone

The signalized intersection at U.S. 50/83 and Spruce is experiencing congestion due to malfunctioning automatic traffic lights. The signals are currently being operated manually, which means longer wait times for green lights.

Please plan ahead when traveling through the area.

KDOT has begun an emergency bridge repair on the U.S. 83 bridge over the Cimarron River, located north of Liberal in Seward County.

Motorists should anticipate delays of up to 15 minutes and reduce speed when approaching and crossing the bridge.
