“The motion won’t change the law. The Supreme Court judgment will stand, unless there is legislative action. It’s about building momentum for the future”
Well, at least the first bit’s finally sunk in ( @akuareindorf 😉)
Now, tell us more about this momentum for a future where you remove Equality Law protections from women and gay people. We’re agog.
@roorooyes4@BettsCaro@akuareindorf I totally agree. I’m over 70 too and just don’t understand what is so difficult about all this. The sad thing for me is, that after over 50 years of supporting Labour, I can no longer do so. They are facilitating Reform
@BettsCaro@akuareindorf Each and every one of the 60 Labour MPs who signed the protest against the EHRC guidance should have the whip removed. The Labour manifesto clearly stated the party supported the Equality Act. What they are doing clearly does not do that. 🤬 I so wish we had a leader in charge.
@BettsCaro@akuareindorf Again that comment on the guidance being "unworkable". Even tho they've been the norm for eons until the last 10-15 years. We KNOW they're workable. I've seen it all my life and now I'm 71. Saying they're not workable does not make it true. How can MSM STILL be running this?
@roorooyes4@akuareindorf Exactly. Moving men into women’s prisons was so easy that absolutely nothing else had to be considered.
Moving them out is currently impossible because no one knows who is male and female anymore 🙄
@BettsCaro@akuareindorf Imagine if TRAs had had to go through all this mess to GET their privileges in the first place that women are having to go through now just to get the actual LAW enforced. How much of their privileges would have been touted as "unworkable"? Yet they did it anyway.
"I saw the destruction of irreplaceable history at Pecherska Lavra in Kyiv after strikes hit residential buildings and sent children to the hospital. Attacks against civilians and on sacred Christian sites are unacceptable. This outrage must stop and this war must end" - Acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Julie Davis (also serves as the U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus).
Davis is stepping down and retiring already this month. Earlier Financial Times reported that her departure was driven by frustration over the administration's Ukraine policies. But State Department assures she is simply retiring after a 30-year career.

— Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy:
> "Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 was a clear violation of international law and a warning sign of Russia's aggressive intentions toward all of Ukraine. At the time, the West did not fully grasp the scale of what was happening and perhaps hoped that Moscow's imperial ambitions would stop there.
We were wrong, and we must acknowledge it. Today, we stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine without hesitation.
Russia must end its policy of occupation and withdraw its troops. We will never tire of working for a just and lasting peace."
A remarkable woman.

DONALD TRUMP & JEFFREY EPSTEIN ARE SEX TRAFFICKERS and I’m gonna post this every day so nobody forgets exactly who these monsters are and why the incriminating portions of The Epstein Files have suddenly disappeared.
@CrochetLady15 UNISON is a disgrace. Happy to throw women under the bus in order to be trendy. Why cannot they see that the ideas they are pushing are totally regressive. Gifting votes to Reform
Most of Unison’s members are women and the union has shown its utter contempt for us.
Why any woman is a member of this misogynistic organisation is beyond me
