Yesterday @GovBraun was asked if he agreed or disagreed on @LGMicahBeckwith of "hating Islam"

Braun said he disagreed with the lieutenant governor's "I hate Islam" comment, arguing that the wording overshadowed whatever point he was trying to make.

He said that if the concern is about violence being carried out in the name of a religion, that discussion gets lost when you use a word like "hate."

He added that public officials need to know their subject matter, think before they speak, and avoid language that diminishes the substance of their argument.
