We had some of the most heated debates today. A stolen idea from an English teacher friend. We assigned sides/groups & had them do group debates. This was our intro. activity into counterclaims & refutations. My favorite question was, “Can we find evidence?” asked in all classes!
This is pretty much the cutest/coolest teacher gift I’ve ever gotten. A student made this for me so that my pencils don’t go missing! They are made out of duck tape! #esd20learns
I love that these 8th graders are really invested in their Sell This Product Speeches :) They're getting into character to sell a product to their class...A product that they've created. #esd20learns#8thgraderocks#infomercials#beingpersuasive
One of my goals this year was to learn more about my students’ lives, and I feel like my Adventurous Mondays has been pretty successful. I love hearing about their weekend adventures each week.
And with that, the spring challenge is complete :) #esd20learns#esd20springchallenge
Day 12: 2018 goal for my students is to have all of my classes comfortably discussing the texts we read in class in an open forum/Socratic Seminar type of setting.
Personal goal...compete in a powerlifting competition

I'll always love the Harry Potter books. They're well written, & teach about friendship, bravery in its many forms, the cost of judging others too soon, how to handle & get through heartbreak, & the list goes on. #12daysesd20learns#esd20learns#potterhead#teachinglifelessons
More connections to Charlie in “Flowers for Algernon” by making and analyzing Rorschach tests. We also looked at our analysis and talked about how our answers related to our personalities. #8thgradela#esd20learns
Day 10: One of my favorite moments is my Adventurous Mondays where the kids and I share our adventures from the previous weekend. Then we add pictures of our adventures to our adventure wall. #12daysesd20learns#esd20learns
