Pleased to be home after 2 weeks away and especially this eve to catchup with a patch Stone Curlew - 2022 will be noted - by far my best patch year so far!
@SwallowBirding@RSPBTitchwell .... starting to worry that we'll be losing you up there! ... or that you've joined the #SSS's - Spectacled Spectacular Spectacle addicts!
Turned from the bathing bears to witness a Lynx kitten learning paw control. They were ever alert but the Magpies wisely tended towards dropping in on the neighbouring Wolf & Bear enclosure #WildplaceProject#Bristol
Just a beginner with #Odonata#ID but I think this may be a Female Blue Tail Damselfly - another from the garden this week - Anyone able to confirm the ID? @BDSdragonflies
Was delighted to find 2 of these when I shortly after found there were 3 together in our South Essex Garden! Migrant Hawker? All Females? #Odonata@BDSdragonflies
A week based in my study was relieved with momentary #Odonata breaks in the garden - and some fun with the #Lumix pre4K photo option. Perhaps someone can confirm - but I believe this to be a Ruddy Darter? @BDSdragonflies
@ShepherdWells @ESBR_Essex@EssexBirdNews I have a Zoom H4 recorder. I've taken it with headphones to top of a hill and was amazed how much I could hear. I used it when the Hawfinches were arriving over that winter a couple of years back. Was great for subtle flight calls.
@ELBF2010@KentishPlover@NaturalEngland Hope you enjoyed the same afternoon sunshine I did on the North bank ... and perhaps saw the geese I didn't at Bowers! π
