Dear colleagues and collaborators across Southwest Virginia,

Today, we had planned to host the SWVA Economic Forum here at UVA Wise. As you know, the Forum had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19, and we’re currently in the process of determining the “how” of that challenge.

Although we cannot gather today as originally intended, we will continue our efforts to share information and continue the movement of Southwest Virginia in a positive economic direction.

We will announce our plans in the coming days. In the meantime accept our warmest wishes as we all navigate through this time.

The rapidly changing situation with the COVID-19 virus has made us make the hard decision to re-evaluate hosting the SWVA Economic Forum on May 20. Over the coming days we will be communicating with our planning committee & stakeholders on options for rescheduling the event.

This year’s theme of place and celebrating the value of our region seems even more appropriate during this time. It is in this time we see our communities shine through service, support and resilience.

Over the past five years, the SWVA Economic Forum has brought together businesses, organizations and individuals across Southwest Virginia and beyond to discuss our future, build relationships, and find common ground for ideas to grow in to action.
