I don’t know about this. The vibe seems subdued. Thailand has made it more difficult to visit by restricting visas. And condo prices continue to fall. Govt crackdown on chinese criminal activity may also contribute. Also the baht continues to weaken (albeit from an expensive point)
@CapexAndChill Well that’s the big if isn’t it. Current capex benefits from not immediately impacting earnings. Their future customers are going to have an immediate P&L impact. So any token expense is going to have to be offset by higher contribution margin.
@MikeFritzell@GlobalStockPick I wouldn’t say Thornton o’glove’s work is “performative”. I’ve seen it on the bookshelves of top academics and of Joel greenblatt.
@MidwestHedgie I invite you to pass through two of those great social equalizers for a decent cross section of the American public: (1) the DMV, (2) jury duty.
@finphysnerd I wonder if it’s better to do heavy research. Make bets. And go on holiday for the year. There’s a recent study showing that experienced sells outperform the market. I know I’ve scared myself out of positions based on silly daily following on the market.
@ActAccordingly That. Or that at 10x book, there’s going to be 9x others that eventually come to market. Earnings are there. Earnings persistence is another matter.
@brettgardner_10 That would be interesting except that Buffett quietly dismissed Gates from his Berkshire board years ago without so much as a public statement of praise, or even an 8-K filing (only disclosed briefly in the proxy).
