Everett and I stopped by the STEAM Open House at Southwest Library. Open and free until 4pm. 3D printing, microscopes, crafts, and more. Itโs a great addition to our fantastic SW neighborhood library!

Ward 6 Mutual Aid is holding a food drive from October 14 - November 18. They need non-perishable food and toiletries. Donate online, at the SW Farmers Market on Saturdays, or Christ United Methodist Church (900 4th St, SW), back entrance on Wed from 3-5pm & Sat from 12-2pm.
Our book sale is this weekend from 11-3 on Saturday and 1-3 on Sunday. We have a great selection of unique books on military history - most under $5 & a few gems at a modest $8. Proceeds benefit the Southwest Library. Mutt Strutt participants get a free book at water station #3!

Thank you to the James Creek Resident Council for the invitation to the Back to School Carnival! We gave away 5 boxes of books and helped kids decorate their new backpacks/school supplies. Plus, we spent a beautiful afternoon with our neighbors in Southwest.
Yoga is back at the Southwest Library on Saturdays! Chair yoga will be offered from 11 to 11:30 on Saturday, July 22. Mat yoga will be available from 11:45-12:45. Please bring your own mat!

Thank you to our friends at Carron Baptist for including us in the First Annual Southwest Juneteenth Festival on Saturday, June 17th. About 200 people attended. Our Juneteenth coloring poster was a big hit for residents of all ages.
