Excluding part-time & seasonal workers from #equalpay conversations has created an inaccurate picture of how dire the situation is, especially for women of color. That changes now. #EqualPayDay#EqualPayWeekOfAction
March 15—#EqualPayDay—marks the day in 2022 when women finally catch up with what men were paid in 2021. The average woman is paid just 83 cents per $2 paid to the average man. It's time to take a stand against pay inequity & discrimination! We need #EqualPay for women everywhere
Why is #EqualPayDay March 15? Because tomorrow the average U.S. woman finally catches up to what the average man earned in 2021. In other words: 3.5 months of income stolen by discrimination 😤🤬
Raise awareness with us during the @equalpay2dayorg Twitterstorm 11amPT/2pmET
We’re raising awareness about the #wagegap for part-time/seasonal/gig workers. Many are essential workers piecing together multiple part-time jobs to keep a roof over their families’ heads. They must be included in #equalpay data & conversations!
"2 million women have dropped out of the workforce during this pandemic, too often because they couldn’t get the care they need for their family, their children." We need investments in the care economy and we need them now! #CareCantWait! #JointAddress
Male allies: You should not only care about closing the #paygap bc you have a mom, a wife, daughters or female friends. Fight for equal pay because it is just and right. #DemandMore#LatinaEqualPay
Our Twitterstorm is coming to a close, but the events keep coming! Join @mujerxsrising and Equal Pay Today at 12PM PT/3PM ET for a #LatinaEqualPay Day National Charla - Let's Make Change: "Pay Us the Full Dollar!" The event will be streamed at https://t.co/8MOVHNYpIr.
Today is #LatinaEqualPay Day. We get paid 54 cents to every dollar a white man gets paid.
I say this every year. I want us to get paid like a man but we need to get paid like a white women first. Latinas are at the bottom of the pay scale for women.
The Latina pay gap means that Latina domestic workers were already under financial strain when the pandemic hit. Most are mothers, and are the primary breadwinners in their home. This pandemic has made it even harder for them to keep their families safe. #LatinaEqualPay
Barriers to transportation worsen the wage gap for Latinx people with disabilities. We need more comprehensive transportation modes so folks can get to school, job interviews, & work. #LatinaEqualPay
