What Freud Actually Meant
Most people picture Freud's three agencies as a moral ladder. Id at the bottom, animal and shameful. Superego at the top, wise and good. Ego somewhere in the middle, trying to be a decent person.
Freud meant none of that.
Your belief system is not made of thought alone. It carries thought, feeling, memory, and the impulse to act.
In a horoscope, the 1st and 5th show cognition, the 3rd and 4th show feeling and memory, and the 3rd and 10th show action tendency.
The Four Houses of What Life Puts Us Through
The 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 12th houses are all disconnected from the Ascendant.
They show parts of life that do not naturally fit one’s sense of self. They are the things one must deal with simply to live.
The 2nd house is what we take in and gradually make our own. Food becomes strength. Money becomes security. Family habits, language, values, and possessions become part of the life we build. It is slow inward change.
The 6th house is what must be dealt with repeatedly. Work, duties, illness, conflict, service, and daily discipline do not disappear after one encounter. They require attention, adjustment, and effort. It is change through repetition.
The 8th house is what gradually breaks down or passes beyond our control. Loss, debt, fear, inheritance, endings, and irreversible change belong here. It shows the parts of life that force us to accept that nothing can be held permanently.
The 12th house is what must be released. Sleep, withdrawal, expenditure, isolation, surrender, and letting go belong here. It shows the recurring need to empty out what cannot be carried indefinitely.
The sequence is simple: we take things in, work through them, lose what cannot remain, and release what must go.
The 2nd house is different from the trika, the 6th, 8th, and 12th. It shares their distance from the Ascendant, but its direction is sustaining. What begins outside the self becomes part of the material basis of life.
The trika houses deal with the more difficult side of that distance: what burdens, changes, diminishes, or exhausts us.
Kālapuruṣa kuṇḍalī is the svarūpa. It is the substance of the bhāva and is invariant for all charts.
Actual lagna decides the environment acting upon that substance (paristhiti). Naturally, it varies by ascendant.
Nakṣatra of the bhāva madhya shiws the active tendency (pravṛtti). Think of it as the first arbiter.
Navāṃśa rāśi at the bhāva madhya degree gives the final result (pariṇāma).
I am not a very structured user. It mostly serves as an idea board. At times like a colleague I debate with on unresolved questions in fields that interest me. It also serves as my editor, researcher, and part-time language teacher. Currently, it is teaching me French & German.
What I find remarkably curious about the field of Astrology is that every astrologer wants to be seen almost like a Guru, a highly holy individual, someone who has transcended the weaknesses of the body and the mind. Let me tell they are are ALL normal humans. Ignore the facade.
In this journey, I made mistakes. They were my own failings. Yet I rest content in the knowledge that I have never fleeced anyone, have never been insincere, and have never taken this vidya for granted.
In the beginning, the amount of fraud committed in the name of Astrology used to enrage me. It no longer does. This is Kaliyuga. One cannot expect expertise and fealty to a Vedanga to be commonplace.
I never found a Guru in Astrology. Those I looked up to in this field turned out to be as human as I am, with the same imperfections that most of us carry.
I met only two astrologers whose predictions came close to perfection, and they were both too old to teach. As for the others, I never felt they were good enough for me to learn from. And I met a great many of them.
Understanding came in the most unexpected manner, and for that I remain grateful to Dwarikadheesh. It was a gift that came unasked, and I will always remain grateful for the opportunity to help people through this vidya.
I never imagined I would practise Astrology. Even today, I do not consider myself a Jyotishi, only an Astrologer. Jyotishi is a title that carries tremendous weight, and I do not know anyone I would call by it.
To the one who surrenders, the universe gives every bit of knowledge he needs. To the one who cannot, the books have everything that is to ever learn. Problem is, some books were never written. Another problem is that some books that were written are no longer available.
Intellectual arrogance is the ugliest quality one can have.
Your intellect is not yours. Your wisdom is not yours. Your perfection is not yours. Your slips are not yours.
The power rests in something much bigger than you, me and everyone else.
Excessive self-reference, persistent preoccupation with one's own importance, and an inability to shift attention away from oneself often reflect an afflicted or imbalanced Sun in the birth chart.
Marriage Delay and Marriage Badha in Prasna Astrology
Marriage is one of the most important events in life. It is therefore natural for people to become anxious when marriage gets delayed or repeated proposals fail without any clear reason. Many consult astrologers after several years of unsuccessful efforts. Some have favourable birth charts, good education, stable careers and supportive families, yet marriage continues to remain uncertain.
Prasna explains that not every delay should be attributed to Saturn, Kuja Doṣa or an unfavourable daśā. There are situations where an unseen karmic obstruction is operating. This obstruction is known as Badha.
Badha simply means an obstruction. It is not always black magic, curses or supernatural influence as many people assume. It is an obstruction arising from karma. The purpose of Prasnais to identify the nature of that obstruction, understand why it is operating, determine which area of life it is affecting and examine whether suitable remedies can reduce its influence.
Marriage Badha refers to an obstruction which mainly affects marriage, finding a suitable partner, engagement, married life or the completion of the marriage itself. It does not necessarily mean that every area of life will suffer. A person may enjoy excellent career growth, good finances and stable health, yet marriage alone continues to face repeated obstacles. Similarly, another individual may have marriage without difficulty but suffer from health or financial Badha instead.
Every Badha does not affect every area of life equally.
Signs of Marriage Badha
Marriage Badha can appear in many different forms.
Some people receive suitable proposals but every discussion breaks down at the final stage. Others become engaged only to see the engagement cancelled unexpectedly. In some cases, the families agree but new obstacles arise without any obvious reason.
There are people who repeatedly attract unsuitable alliances despite sincere efforts. Some experience continuous rejection even though there appears to be no visible defect. Others face unexplained delays for several years while younger relatives or friends marry without difficulty.
Sometimes the person himself or herself repeatedly postpones marriage because of changing decisions, uncertainty or circumstances beyond control. In other situations there may be sudden opposition from family members, social complications, legal issues or unexpected events that postpone marriage again and again.
These repeated patterns are often more significant than one isolated incident.
What causes Marriage Badha?
Prasna recognises many different types of Badhas.
Marriage Badha may arise due to Pitṛ Badha, Sarpa Badha, Jantu Badha, Devatā Badha, Brāhmaṇa gṛha, Abhicāra Badha, Preta Badha, Strī Badha, or several other karmic conditions recognised in traditional Praśna.
Each has its own indications and should never be assumed without proper examination.
For one person, the obstruction may arise because ancestral karma is influencing marriage. For another, repeated interference from gṛha may become the cause. In another case, hidden karmic factors may repeatedly prevent suitable alliances from reaching completion.
Although the external result appears similar, the underlying cause may be entirely different.
This is why traditional Prasnadoes not prescribe remedies merely because marriage has been delayed.
Delay does not always mean Badha
It is important to understand that every delayed marriage is not caused by Badha.
Sometimes the delay is simply due to the operation of planetary periods or gṛha bādhā. In such cases, marriage eventually takes place without any major karmic obstruction, though it can take a longer time according to planets.
Prasnatherefore first determines whether an actual Badha exists before examining its cause.
Many people spend years performing rituals because they assume every delay must have a hidden curse. Traditional Prasnadoes not make such assumptions.
Why birth horoscope alone may not explain repeated delays
The birth horoscope certainly indicates marriage, timing (which never works if there is badha) and the overall quality of married life. However, there are situations where repeated obstacles continue despite reasonably favourable combinations.
Prasna examines the karma operating behind the trouble.
Two individuals may have similar birth charts, yet one marries without difficulty while the other continues to experience repeated delays. The difference often becomes clear only through Praśna because it reveals the unseen obstruction operating at that particular time.
For this reason, Praśna is traditionally used when repeated efforts fail and the reason behind the delay remains unclear.
Can remedies remove Marriage Badha?

The Fastest Jyotiṣa Degree in the World: Just Ask One Question!
The internet is full of people claiming to be masters of Jyotiṣa and Vāstu. Some became "experts" within a few months. Some became gurus after watching YouTube. Others have discovered knowledge that even the ancient ṛṣis apparently forgot to mention.
So before believing anyone, ask one simple question.
"From where did you complete your qualification in Jyotiṣa or Vāstu?"
Now enjoy the answers.
Some will immediately block you.
Some will become angry.
Some will say, "I belong to an ancient paramparā."
Others will proudly mention some online "school" which teaches everything from birth charts to mokṣa in a few weekends.
Notice that very few will actually tell you where they studied, which texts they learnt, who examined them, or how many years they spent studying.
Jyotiṣa and Vāstu are not subjects that can be mastered by reading social media posts or attending a few online classes. They require years of study, reading classical texts, understanding terminology, learning calculations, interpretation and continuous practice.
The problem today is very simple. People do not have time to study, but they have plenty of time to become teachers.Remember, every doctor, engineer or lawyer is expected to show where they studied. Nobody becomes offended when asked about their qualification.
So why should it be different for someone claiming to guide your career, marriage, health or finances?A genuine student will answer the question calmly. The fake one usually answers with everything except the question.
