Genetic Biohacking was a disappointment, rather than discuss the viability of possible genetic modification, the speaker presented his life story, touching very little on the technology he was fawning over. @SXSWTheClass
@SXSWTheClass Peace for Ukraine. An emotionally provocative session. Three Ukrainian artists ask for assistance in the worlds most common language, art. They showed how far Ukraine has come as a country and how much they have to offer the world
We Don't Have Time was a star studded panel on how we can all do our part to combat climate change. The conversation was kept light with some dark humor that helped with discussing topics as bleak as subsidizing our own demise. @SXSWTheClass
@SXSWTheClass Flatstock exhibition. I am thankful that I attended, met some great artists. But was a little disappointed as there was little to no official sxsw poster designs made by those artists.
The speaker this morning for stopping artist exploration was so inspirational, and she made some very good points. "Always look at a contract like your going into a fight because you are, your fighting for your voice to be heard" #SXSW@SXSWTheClass
“…the what-ifs began to be real.” From Steal Like an Artist author @austinkleon. Need to teach this philosophy to students to transform their ideas and musings into reality. Powerful notion. @SXSWTheClass
The key note of Kevin Mayer was an informative look into how the streaming world is growing and changing. It was a bit technical and hard to follow though. @SXSWTheClass
@SXSWTheClass Mark Zuckerberg. Where to begin, I wanted him to show up in person so I could see if he’s a robot. Content wise he spoke about meta of course. He seems to think it’s nearer than most of the other people who I’ve listened to at SXSW so far we will see who’s right!
Psychedelics at the End of Life was a great panel that dug deep into how psychedelics can be used to help those who are dying be more comfortable with that reality. Everyone dies and being uncomfortable with it is a natural response to not existing anymore. @SXSWTheClass
@SXSWTheClass The thought of Art being viewed in VR/AR/XR. To give access to those who can't. Much to keep in mind. And more to try and discuss with others.
Futurist of Cannabis was an enlightening panel on the future of cannabis use and its impact on our society. The conversation was interesting and provided a hopeful look into the futre of cannabis. @SXSWTheClass
@SXSWTheClass spacial audio orientation and what that means for the industry. Those speaking were absolutly correct. Find that foundation and build from there. Done with the theoretical talks for the day.
👍🏼👍🏼 session on volumetric imaging. So many ways to use this technology as storytelling. Need to get it into the hands of our students at @CSUPueblo to preserve culture of So Colorado & the SW! Thanks @jason_waskey@SvenBliedung@ChristinaHeller and Lady Phoenix! @SXSWTheClass
Every time I go to SXSW, I feel like I need a massive brain dump to get these ideas and technologies into the hands of students and colleagues and watch them create. If only I had a few million dollars to make this happen… @SXSWTheClass
The Toxicity of Hustle Culture was a fun meet up. Playing introductory games and seeing people beyond their job title was the main theme and it was executed perfectly. @SXSWTheClass
@SXSWTheClass 90 minute film session. Didn’t expect the topics learned but they were very informative. Learned about how overlooked disability is on a film set, mentorships for the marginalized who may lack the proper skill set, and how to target the best festivals for you
