No one is denying Celia Cruz’s Blackness. She was Afro-Cuban, not African American. Black History Month (US) is specifically about African American history. Race & ethnicity aren’t the same thing. Just giving some context to the confusion happening on this thread 😅 I 💗 Celia
This Black History Month, we celebrate Celia Cruz—the Afro-Cuban Queen of Salsa who broke barriers, honored her roots, and made the world dance to the sound of ¡Azúcar! Her legacy continues to inspire generations.
@heirmeg You not from NYC if you go link a bitch, she live in the Ps, it’s raining, she don’t give you the apartment number so now you standing in the lobby on the phone and acting like your grandma live in the building so you don’t get jumped
I be too humble, cus honestly it’s a flex (to me) when people still ask about my work/art & they want to buy it with no website in sight (atm) #buildgenuineconnections
I’ve felt like this was some kind of bullying. I still know people who’ll just go on & on & never notice that others haven’t said anything in a conversation. Whole time it’s a monologue in their heads & they have no one to talk to. It’s also rude as hell.
This is the next level after, “Why would someone pay so much for something you can buy on Zara/AliExpress/Shein/Temu?” Once you start getting into fibers and fabrics, you can’t go back. It’s more than appearances.
