@jnanney Ouch, 54 knots with full canvas is pretty gnarly! We were taking it easy as had a noob helming so had fully reefed. 2-3m swell played into that decision.

@EnglishFolkfan @Caius Sailing Uma (YouTube) have one (it doesn’t rotate). It doesn’t make too much difference to the speed, and you can turn off the regen. Seems to work pretty well.

More sailing back across the Irish Sea. Conditions were ok here, but got up to more than 2m swell later and I didn’t get my camera out for that.

Made it to Ireland. 15 hours 30 minutes. Quite pleasant except for when we lost gear selection in the dark outside Dun Loaghaire harbour. Stuck in reverse. Took a few donuts to work out the problem and a couple of zip ties to fix.
