कई लोगों ने AI से अपनी फोटो बनवाने पर चिंता ज़ाहिर की है।
इसमें कुछ तथ्य भी है और कुछ बेवजह का डर भी।
टेक्निकल बातें समझाने की कोशिश करता हूं।
हो सकता है पोस्ट थोड़ी बड़ी हो जाए।

सबसे पहले ये बता दूं कि आप अपने फोन को बंद भी रखते हैं तो भी आपका लोकेशन ढूंढना आसान है।
जब आप फोन को पावर ऑफ करते हैं, तो ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम (Android या iOS), Mobile Data ,Wi-Fi और ऐप्स पूरी तरह निष्क्रिय हो जाते हैं। उस दौरान कोई ऐप आपकी बातचीत, ब्राउज़िंग या स्क्रीन एक्टिविटी को रिकॉर्ड करके सर्वर पर नहीं भेज सकता।

लेकिन यहाँ दो तकनीकी बातें काम करती हैं
लोकेशन बीकन Low-Power Bluetooth Find My नेटवर्क iPhones और कुछ नए Android डिवाइसेज में पूरी तरह ऑफ होने के बाद भी एक बहुत छोटा लो पावर चिपसेट एक्टिव रहता है।

यह आसपास के अन्य फोन्स को एक गुप्त ब्लूटूथ सिग्नल भेजता है ताकि खो जाने पर डिवाइस खोजी जा सके ,जैसे Apple का "iPhone Findable After Power Off"
इससे कोई व्यक्तिगत गतिविधि या बातचीत नहीं जाती, केवल लोकेशन नेटवर्क को पता चलती है।

अंतिम गतिविधि का डेटा मतलब Cached Data फोन बंद करने से ठीक पहले तक जो डेटा फोन में जमा हुआ था, वह चालू होते ही इंटरनेट मिलते ही कंपनियों के सर्वर पर Upload हो जाता है।

Pegasus जैसे सुपर एडवांस्ड स्पाईवेयर फोन को Fake Power off में डाल सकते हैं, जहाँ स्क्रीन काली दिखती है पर बैकग्राउंड में रिकॉर्डिंग चलती रहती है। यह आम यूजर्स के साथ नहीं होता, केवल टारगेट्स साइबर हमलों में देखा जाता है।
बड़े बड़े नेताओं , सेलिब्रिटी पर।
इन सॉफ्टवेयर की कीमत करोड़ों से शुरू होती है।
कोई भला आपकी जासूसी के लिए इतना खर्च क्यों करेगा?(पुकी बाबा के शब्दों में कोई भला आपको प्यार क्यों करेगा)

अक्सर लोगों को लगता है कि "मैंने किसी जूते का नाम लिया और इंस्टाग्राम पर उसका विज्ञापन आ गया, इसका मतलब फोन बातें सुन रहा है।"
तकनीकी हकीकत इससे अलग है।

Android और iOS दोनों में अब हार्डवेयर लेवल पर माइक इंडिकेटर (ऊपर हरा या ओरेंज डॉट) आता है।
अगर किसी ऐप को माइक की परमिशन नहीं दी गई है, तो OS उस ऐप को ऑडियो हार्डवेयर का एक्सेस नहीं देता।

कंपनियों को सुनने की जरूरत ही नहीं पड़ती।
कंपनियां आपकी बातें सुने बिना ही आपकी जरूरत का सटीक अंदाजा लगा लेती हैं।
इसे डेटा एग्रीगेशन और प्रिडिक्टिव मॉडलिंग कहते हैं।

अगर आप किसी दोस्त से मिले जिसके पास वह जूता है या जिसने उसे सर्च किया था, तो दोनों फोन्स की लोकेशन और Wi-Fi आईपी मैच होते ही आपको भी वही विज्ञापन दिख जाएगा।

आप किन पेजों पर रुकते हैं, कितनी देर स्क्रॉल करते हैं, आपकी उम्र और रूचि क्या है, एल्गोरिदम इतनी सटीकता से अनुमान लगा लेता है कि लगता है फोन ने बात सुन ली।

यदि आप "फाइंड माय" ट्रैकिंग भी बंद रखना चाहते हैं, तो शटडाउन करते समय स्क्रीन पर आने वाले ऑप्शन से "Find My / Location after power off" को डिसेबल कर सकते हैं।

ऐप्स को केवल "While using the app" की परमिशन दें, "Always Allow" कभी न रखें।

सेटिंग्स में जाकर Microphone Access के टॉगल को सिस्टम लेवल पर बंद कर सकते हैं जब आपको उसकी जरूरत न हो।
पुराने unnecessary chats/files delete करें।

मेरी राय में दो extreme दोनों गलत हैं
Extreme 1
"AI बहुत dangerous है, इसलिए कभी फोटो मत डालो।"

Extreme 2
AI companies पर पूरा भरोसा करो, privacy की कोई चिंता नहीं।
सही approach, Use AI, but use it consciously.

फोटो के लिए एक बहुत अच्छा rule बताता हूं।

अगर सिर्फ AI editing करनी है तो Original photograph की copy बनाइए, unnecessary metadata हटाइए ,sensitive background crop कीजिए , AI में edited copy डालिए।

जैसे अगर photo के पीछे दिखाई दे रहा है
घर का address
school name
vehicle number
ID card
office badge

तो पहले crop या blur कर दें।

अब 80s ट्रेंड वाली बात करते हैं
सोशल मीडिया और खबरों में अक्सर इस बात का ऐसा हौव्वा बना दिया जाता है जैसे AI को अपनी एक फोटो भेजते ही हमारी पूरी जिंदगी उसके हाथ में चली गई। सच यह है कि बात इतनी भी डरावनी नहीं है।

AI को फोटो देने में zero-risk तो नहीं है, खासकर चेहरे की फोटो के मामले में।
लेकिन इसका मतलब यह भी नहीं कि हर AI टूल आपकी पहचान चुरा लेगा या उसका गलत इस्तेमाल ही करेगा।

बात को बिल्कुल सीधे तरीके से समझते हैं।
चेहरा कोई आम तस्वीर नहीं है, यह आपकी बायोमेट्रिक पहचान है। पासवर्ड बदला जा सकता है, जैसे Vijay@123 से कोई नया कोड, लेकिन चेहरा नहीं बदला जा सकता।
यही वजह है कि FTC और NIST जैसी संस्थाएं चेहरे के डेटा के गलत इस्तेमाल को लेकर आगाह करती रही हैं।

Just came across a clip from a school somewhere in Kashmir. Independence Day celebrations held for or by the Waqf Board.

I have a question. Isn’t waqf board a religious body entrusted with serving the Muslim Community. and ideally doing so while uplholding Islamic Values?

Then there is something almost comical about this institution: an organisation built around a religious and communal purpose, yet sitting so comfortably through something you would expect a religious institution to at least question.

It lends its name to celebrations that reduce our children to stage props and performers.

Why is the default way of involving children — and particularly girls — in public celebrations to make them dance to irrelevant songs? Why aren’t our institutions giving them something to think about, create, learn, discuss, build or contribute?

Especially in a place like Kashmir. Which has had a remarkable legacy of people who understood education as a means to enlighten minds, cultivate character and equip people with knowledge and spirituality.

What about the intellectual and cultural legacy of wonderful scholars of the past.

So if it’s an institution whose very existence is tied to religious purpose, you are taksed with deeper work of strengthening the communities spiritually morally, intellectually.

And to be clear: the point is not the children. Children are often simply made to participate in whatever schools and institutions put before them.

Perhaps that is the real tragedy here.

The question is what an institution chooses to facilitate, endorse and place under its own banner.
