They let characters like Ashe dynamite build, Mei, Hazard, Freja be ultra broken for ages, don't add fan favorites and take away fun powers asap, of course people will not want to play.

And when i just remember how much they were pushing and supporting Stadium, even abandoning the main modes and not releasing new map for 5v5 for such a long time.
So many dev resources and time went into Stadium only for it to be abandoned...
