The Supreme Court’s Order is ambiguous as it doesn’t clarify whether Imran Khan is to remain in Al-Shifa till the next hearing, is the Order merely to the extent of a routine medical checkup and once that has been done adequately, could he be re-shifted to Adiala? Confusing!

An already humongous backlog and pendency. Also, whilst the fate of these judges is decided, no fresh appointments can be made to these 5 positions meaning thereby that the IHC will function only with 4 judges. An absurd situation indeed.

As per Art. 200, if a judge refuses transfer, he will be proceeded against under Art. 209 and a decision must be rendered in 30 days and within such time, a judge cannot render judicial services. If 5 judges refuse their transfer, the IHC will be devoid of 5 judges, increasing
