Why I will never leave Christianity🌝
First of all, Christianity is not a religion. If it were, I would have resigned a long time ago. Christianity is a relationship with God, and that alone already disqualifies it from being grouped with religions.
Relationship and religion are not twins, they are not even cousins.
Religion is that strict teacher that gives you a long list:
Do this. Don’t do that. Stand here. Face there. Repeat this. Miss one rule and boom, punishment loading…
Religion is obsessed with rules, rituals, systems, laws, traditions, ceremonies, and outward performance. The goal? To earn approval, avoid punishment, or prove you are devoted enough. The funniest part? Religion can exist without even knowing God personally. You’re just busy… and tired.
Now let’s talk about relationship.
Relationship is about knowing God, loving God, and walking with God personally. No scripts. No fear-driven performance. It’s built on love, trust, and communication. It’s closeness, not just obedience. In relationship, obedience flows naturally, because you love Him, not because you’re scared of Him. God speaks, guides, corrects, and comforts you. That’s connection.
And that’s why in Christianity we have relationship, not religion. Which is exactly why I can’t leave Christianity to go and sign up for a religion filled with endless rules and regulations. I like peace. I like rest. I like knowing God, not auditioning for Him.
In Christianity, there is assurance. We are not confused. We are not guessing. We are not just following noise. We are confident in what we believe, and we have peace knowing we are on the right path, that we will be with God in heaven.
Now about the whole “oneness of God” competition.
Some people are shouting, “Our God is one! Our God is one!” as if saying it louder makes it truer. But believing in one God alone doesn’t make that God true. Zoroastrianism believes in one God. Sikhism believes in one God too. Oneness alone is not the qualification.
In Christianity, we believe in one God who revealed Himself in three persons. This God didn’t stay distant. Over centuries, He revealed Himself step by step, then He did something shocking, He came down to His creation, felt our weaknesses, experienced humanity, and gave Himself for us as the greatest sacrifice. To me, that’s what a true God looks like: a God who is near, not distant; humble, not restricted; powerful, yet loving.
And lastly, being a follower of Jesus changed my life completely.
Jesus gave me a peace the world cannot offer. I used to be proud. I used to be bitter. Now, I’m humbled. I’m joyful. I’m not perfect, but I’m transformed, because Christ lives in me. That’s what happens when you truly follow Jesus.
So no, I can’t leave Relationship for religion.
And once you experience Jesus, there’s really no going back.
