Bronte disliked Austin's work as well-crafted but superficial & lacking the "passion" she had. Bronte could never do satire.

@WillManidis What? Where? I've been collecting & repairing antiques for 2+ decades. Late 1800s up to 1940s. The old shops/bazaars/ antique malls have closed, estate sales got ridiculous & online prices are through the roof. I kick myself for things I sold or got rid of I'll never replace now

Delegitimizing an election & the other party, dehumanizing immigrants, chants to kill or enact targeted terrorism against one group, all have led to real-world violence but more nebulous

@HistoryBoomer I believe in barring speech that is an incitement to violence, and I'm not narrow in the definition of that. I'd also probably be against NAMBLA having a room at a public library if their lectures led to the incitement of illegal activity, to drag up an old case.

@HistoryBoomer What is the defining factor between incitement to "immediate" violence, vs. incitement to violence? Were the speeches given on Jan 6th incitements to immediate violence? Does immediate violence need to take place right after the speech to decide the speech isn't protected?
