This picture was taken around 3am (Thursday) at Islamabad airport. Qatar Airways flight QR632 landed at 1:45am but passengers were still waiting for their luggage more than an hour later.

Just returned after spending two weeks travelling through Paris, Brussels and Oslo. At every airport, from immigration to baggage claim, everything was quick and smooth. Remember, those airports are far bigger workload to handle.

Also, after you have already cleared immigration, there is another person checking the same entry stamp.

What's the point?

It's these small things that show why our system is so broken.

Iran's Foriegn Ministry spokesman just says Iran and the US have reached an agreement on "most issues" but the formal deal has yet to be signed. He adds the progress was the outcome of efforts spanning several weeks. He particuarly mentions Pakistan for the key role.

Many are wondering whether Pakistan can say no to Trump’s demand to join the Abraham Accords.

Pakistan may have been mediating between Iran and the US and is currently on good terms with President Trump but that does not mean it will change its Israel policy.

Islamabad has shown in the past that it has differed with Washington on many issues.

President Trump is also aware of this, as he noted in a Truth Social post that one or two countries might not join the Abraham Accords and that would be fine. He may have been hinting at Pakistan.

Iran-US "interim deal" on the cards

The Pakistan Army Chief is now on way to Tehran, according to IRNA.

The Field Marshal was on standby since yesterday, waiting for the green signal.

Since, he has now departed for Tehran, one can safely say that a potentional "interim deal" may be within reach.

While the interior minister was busy in Tehran meeting Iranian officials, some important meetings also took place in Islamabad during the last 24 hours.

The UAE has quietly reached out to Pakistan, seeking re-engagement.

The move comes after an apparent realization among Emirati decision-makers that Pakistan is too important a country to be on the wrong side of.

There is also a shift in the UAE’s policy. Unlike its earlier stance, Abu Dhabi now favors diplomacy to resolve the Iran-US conflict.

Some interesting facts about Senator Lindsey Graham and his love-hate relationship with Pakistan

Senator Lindsey Graham is in the spotlight for questioning Pakistan's mediation role.

But interestingly, during President Trump’s first term, he was among the strongest advocates of close ties with Pakistan.

In fact, he was one of the key figures who helped the then-Imran Khan government open a direct channel of communication with the White House.

Lindsey Graham was instrumental in securing President Trump’s invitation to then-Prime Minister Imran Khan for a White House visit in July 2019.

Lindsey traveled to Pakistan prior to the July summit and met Imran Khan. He was impressed with Imran and his approach to resolving the Afghan crisis.

Today, Lindsey advocates the use of force to settle the Iran issue, but back then he was in favor of diplomacy to end the Afghan war.
