Very excited to share this publication and that it is my first 1st author publication! Check out the #openaccess article on recovery for youth participants of the At home/Chez soi project #HousingFirst
Congrats to @S_mmillar for her 1st author publication of the #openaccess article in Youth & Society on predictors of recovery among youth with lived experience of homelessness who participated in the Canadian At Home / Chez Soi Demonstration Project #HousingFirst#RighttoHousing

@Academic_Alex_ As someone immunocompromised i can say this is so frustrating. I come to campus, get sick, get better, go to campus and surprise, sick again ! It’s really a never ending cycle.. my mask can only protect me so much (and my doctors said not to hide in my room indefinitely 😂)
BREAKING: Emergency Departments in Ontario are being instructed to prepare for an "extreme surge" amid the "triple threat" of respiratory viruses.
Masking in all indoor public settings is now being "strongly recommended"
#onpoli
@DrNickFNL I haven’t stopped masking!! 😂 And some people are telling me that the ‘we are in this together’ messaging is over used and masking is inconvenient! Masking isn’t harder than over run hospitals and living with chronic illness……
Wrapping up my first @CAEHomelessness national conference today with more motivation to continue the important work& research on #endhomelessness (& excited for more in person conferences). So happy to meet new colleagues& reconnect after long years with many. #CAEH22
It was our privilege to present the CMHA Ottawa Condo Program at #CAEH22 with our friends from @CRSEC_CRECS as part of the HFR3: Variations in #HousingFirst Programs.
Thanks, @CAEHomelessness, the other presenters, attendees, and sponsors!
When you’re at a session a at #CAEH22 about homelessness amidst pandemic and they mention dr. Turnbull and everyone is a fan… and you’re like yes , I know him bc I teach his grandson skiing ✌🏻
@ThurlerCesar @KrystalS_83 @AcademicChatter Is your mendeley word plug in glitching? I have been dealing with a glitch all day but too far gone to switch until my next project 🙃
A sign of character is focusing more on how you treat others than how they treat you.
Narcissists feel entitled to get respect. They aim to be the most important person in every room.
Humble people strive to show respect. They aim to make everyone in the room feel important.
I wish that instead of hating the homeless, we compassionately fought for housing. Instead of hating people who use drugs, we compassionately fought for harm reduction. Instead of hating the poor, we compassionately fought to end poverty.
Compassion over hate. Every time.
Congratulations to one of the winners of the 2022 Paula Goering Collaborative Research and Knowledge Translation Award! Using a #HousingFirst approach, this study showed tenants have stable housing, improved health, and decreased substance use. https://t.co/uC5urBJliO
And the woman who came In saying “oh really? I need to put one on? I didn’t realize we still had to wear masks here” … it’s a hospital… #CovidIsNotOver
Still confused about my emerg experience this am. When I was scolded and demanded to change my n95 for the 3ply medical when majority were reluctantly wearing and taking them off … to cough #CovidIsNotOver#MaskUp
