@McDonaldScott_@JJJosephField Great that @BritishCouncil is pledging to support refugees & specifically displaced teachers... but what about all the Afghan BC teachers left behind in Afghanistan & stuck in Pakistan. No educational provision for them for over 2 years! Why not @McDonaldScott_ ? #AtRiskTeachers
A year since the BBC programme 'Abandoned in Afghanistan' was broadcast, the message is still very poignant, as many Afghan @BritishCouncil teachers remain stuck in 🇦🇫 & 🇵🇰. A very worthwhile listen @RishiSunak@EwartBiggs@paulkenyonTV@Katewest0

Great to see @BritishCouncil is keen to support displaced teachers from various countries... no mention of Afghan teachers though!
What support will BC provide for Afghan teachers a) arriving in the UK b) stuck in Pakistan c) hiding in Afghansitan?

On next Tuesday’s @TTRadioOfficial Late Show, I will be talking to Joe Seaton (@AtRiskTeachers). Joe has spent the last two years advocating for British Council trained #teachers who’ve been abandoned in Pakistan & Afghanistan. #TTRadio#eduX

Crucial point made by @AtRiskTeachers. The teachers were in public facing roles in the classroom not an office which made them at even more risk as everyone in their local communities knew they worked for the #BritishCouncil. Why were they excluded from #ARAP? #AtRiskTeachers
Encouraging news, now can @GOVUK get all eligible Afghans stuck in hotels in Islamabad out of Pakistan before they start being deported back to Afghanistan & back to the Taliban? The clock is ticking. @FCDOGovUK#ACRS#ARAP#AtRiskTeachers

Can @FCDOGovUK please clarify the situation for #ACRS eligible Afghans stuck in Pakistan. @BBCNews reports implied @GOVUK was going to get ACRS eligible Afghans out... now messages the teachers have received from FCDO say the flights are only for #ARAP applicants. #WhatsThePlan?
At last! Big news for the #ACRS & #ARAP eligible Afghans who have been waiting far too long in Pakistan. Let's hope they are allocated accom. & flights asap.

UK scrambles charter flights to bring Afghans stuck in Pakistan hotels to safety https://t.co/af87MxpDYt
Thanks to @BylineTimes for raising awareness of the Afghan #BritishCouncil teachers stuck in Pakistan. While there is some encouraging news, all the #AtRiskTeachers are still anxiously waiting to be relocated, & desperately hoping not to get deported

At present there are over 60 Afghan #BritishCouncil teachers stuck in hotel rooms in Islamabad. These teachers have all been approved for relocation to the UK under the ACRS scheme. All these teachers need immediate sanctuary in UK before possible deportation on Nov 1st.
Afghan #BritishCouncil teachers in Islamabad fear being sent back into the arms of the Taliban as Pakistan deportation deadline looms. Will @GOVUK address this urgent issue? @RishiSunak#AtRiskTeachers

@RishiSunak, hopefully you have seen the headlines coming out of Pakistan. Afghan #BritishCouncil teachers have been stuck in hotels in Islmabad for over 9 months. They have expired visas & fear deportation back to the Taliban. Please address this urgent issue. #AtRiskTeachers
We call for immediate transfer of #ARAP & #ACRS eligible Afghans waiting in Pakistan to the UK. They are no longer safe. Pakistan's crackdown on undocumented Afghans DIRECTLY affects Afghans in @FCDOGovUK hotels, waiting for UK housing. Police arrested & detained several already.
This lady contacted me this week; desperate not just for herself but for her unborn baby. We have a debt of honour to those who worked with us and for us. MY country, the one I believe in, meets its moral obligations @RishiSunak Please RT and @ your MP
@RishiSunak@inBritish 🔁 Incredible to see the lasting connection between UK and India through @inBritish! 🌟 However, let's not forget the plight of the British Council #AtRiskTeachers, hiding in Afghanistan or stranded in cramped hotels in Pakistan, unable to fulfill their passion for education. 1/2

Before meeting the world leaders of today I’ve been meeting with the world leaders of tomorrow.
It’s been fantastic to visit students and staff here at @inBritish - a reflection of the living bridge that exists between the UK and India.
