As the only African born, not being on the Africa subcommittee is not just an elimination of a unique voice but an elimination of all the voices that have never been heard on a committee on the continent.
It’s racist, xenophobic and discriminatory.
Definitely needed these reminders for myself as I transition back into working from chemo. How many little things do we do in a day that make ours/other's lives better, but we don't count as success? And how often do we prioritize our everyday happiness? Food for thought in 2023!
It’s mid-January, when so many of us start feeling suffocated with our new year’s aspirations. If that’s you today - take these reminders from us for a soft landing place in 2023. Growth is hard and also requires rest and reflection, despite what society will have you believe.
Message @aBetterForce for our DEI workshops if you or your company need expert help in understanding how to create more equitable spaces. These topics are why @SerajSarah and I started our own company and we've poured our heart & soul into creating these workshops.
People think of racism as individual acts of hatred when in reality it's a systemic problem that affect BIPOC in every sphere of their life. If you want to be a true ally, understand the problem first. Message us about our DEI workshops if you need expert help in doing just that.

As a new working mom in the pandemic, I relate to this SO much. In 2021, there were many days when I felt exhausted, wondering where my time had gone and feeling depressed that I had not "achieved" anything. We need to do more to support & acknowledge women's invisible labor.
Ever feel like you're working hard but with very little to show for it? Our society values very specific things as "real work", leading to hours of invisible work that are unpaid and unacknowledged. And its worse for women, who work 3 out of every 4 hours of invisible labor.
Can't believe it's already been a year since @SerajSarah and I launched @aBetterForce. We've grown and learnt so much from our clients, colleagues and community in this past year, so I wanted to take this moment and say thank you to everyone who has supported us in this endeavor.
A Better Force turns 1 this week! We would like to thank our clients and well-wishers for their unwavering support through this year. Thank you for believing in us and giving us the privilege to work with you. We hope you will continue to be with us in all our future endeavors.
