@bot253592 @rtomdickharry@souparmonTN@CalltoActivism Makes me wonder why conservatives are flying that flag and so pissed about democrats tearing down their own statues then. π€
@meanderingemu@safe_hrm Halifax transit is a joke compared to other cities, even Canadian cities. If they really cared and wanted to encourage ridership then they'd at least make weekends and special events free.
@moonpiecat@safe_hrm@HfxRegPolice Like, drivers aren't restricted by city lines. Believe it or not, thry drive into Dartmouth, sackville, Bedford, etc. People don't suddenly get polite when they cross the bridge.
@moonpiecat@safe_hrm@HfxRegPolice Do it multiple times in one day. I guarantee you there are people who don't stop.
I also cross multiple halifax city streets (Granville x sackville) and the same. People don't stop. You really can't speak until it's a daily routine.
@safe_hrm Drive-thrus and restaurants are private, not government, property. If the city of halifax set up booths where people could do 20 squats and get free bus tickets, that'd be awesome, but then you have to think about people who are physically disabled and how/wharf they'd have to do
@bergramo@vereinscius@CBCNS I work downtown and regularly see cyclists using the bike lanes. Your street isn't the whole city, and on a good day there are plenty of cyclists including myself.
@safe_hrm I don't go to bayers lake (like, ever) but the worst beg button I've dealt with is Alderney X King st in Dartmouth. There's a trail there and lots of pedestrians, but the only way you get a walk light is to push the button.
@beverleb@safe_hrm Yeah. I have really acidic water on my well and it eats through our copper piping. It was also so full of rust one year that it was orange. Had a water treatment system and RO installed at $1,800...
Oh, and if the power goes out like it did for a week with Fiona, no water.
@safe_hrm Pickup trucks do whatever they want in Halifax and (by their own admission in a Facebook group I'm in) take up more space than a regular car, yet it's the bike lanes that are responsible for the "lack of parking" and not the growing numbers of extra large personal vehicles.
@safe_hrm@hfxtransit This is sad and why people turn to cars instead of using public transit. People are trying to get to work and need reliable transportation.
@safe_hrm The lot is privately owed and rented to tenants by the property owner during the daytime. In the evening, the patrons of the business park there. I expect in the future that another condo building will be built there by the developer and it will be as unaffordable as the rest of
