Had a very engaging discussion with the team of the Assam AVGC-XR Development Association (AADA), along with their Chief Advisor Shri Ashish Kulkarni, Chairman of the AVGC-XR Forum at FICCI, regarding policymaking in the field of Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality.

AADA, along with Shri Akshat Rathee (Co-Founder of Nodwin Gaming) and Smti Shefali Johnson (CEO of Comic Con India), presented an interesting proposal to host a three-day Comic Con event in Guwahati, scheduled for November 2025.

The event aims to bring together young creative minds and enthusiasts from across Northeast India. The proposal includes organizing Comic Con annually for a minimum of three consecutive years, with the goal of boosting the creative and cultural industries in Assam and the broader Northeast region.

This proposal is also part of the flagship events outlined under the AVGC-XR Policy submitted by AADA to the Government of Assam earlier this year.

Our government is fast-tracking the implementation of the policy and is keen to support such initiatives.

We also discussed the potential of events like Comic Con to shape Guwahati’s creative ecosystem and provide a wider platform for Northeast India’s talent and industries.
