A Message to the World and to Every Conscience Still Alive
I am the injured journalist, Mohammed Fayeq Abu Mustafa. I write these words while caught between pain and a silence that has lasted far longer than any human can bear.
Eight months have passed since my injury—eight months of resisting a pain that cannot be seen, and a suffering that no one seems to hear.
I suffered a brain injury, fractures in my spine, and I am living with severe partial paralysis.
My body is no longer what it once was, nor is my life anything like what I once knew.
But more painful than the wounds themselves is this harsh neglect, this silence surrounding my story—as if it means nothing to anyone.
I appeal to every living conscience, to everyone who believes in humanity and justice.
I call upon the relevant authorities, international institutions, and the world at large:
Save what remains of me.
I urgently need to travel for medical treatment.
Every day that passes without intervention takes with it a part of my hope for recovery, and a part of my ability to endure.
I never carried anything but my camera, and my only mission was to convey the truth.
Is the price of truth to be left alone to face such a fate?
These are not just words.
This is the cry of a human being asking for his right to treatment, to life, to a new chance.
Do not let me fade away in silence.
Save me… before it is too late.
