ANOTHER CATCH AND RELEASE FAILURE: In Democrat-run Charlotte, a suspect was released from jail. Just FIVE DAYS LATER, police say he attacked TWO WOMEN.

One of those women, Sandy Stirrup, had stopped at the Circle K to throw away trash. She told WBTV she barely looked at the man before he struck her, knocking her backward into a pole and leaving her with a forehead wound that reportedly required stitches.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police identified the suspect as 32-year-old Evin Curtis Sims of Matthews. The alleged attack happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, in the 1200 block of East Boulevard in Dilworth, near Kenilworth Avenue.

According to Queen City News, Sims grabbed an orange traffic cone and hit one woman in the back before striking Stirrup in the head. Firefighters treated Stirrup’s cut at the scene.

“There was nothing, no words exchanged,” Stirrup said. “He tossed the traffic cone at my head.”

An affidavit says she fell backward and struck her head on a pole. Hoodline reported scrapes on her face and body from the fall, and Stirrup described an injury to her knee.⠀

“I also got like my knee busted up and it almost knocked me out,” she told WBTV. The victims told police the attacker fled and “ran strangely,” while surveillance video supported their account that the attack was unprovoked.⠀

Another woman reported a threatening encounter that same Sunday while walking her dog in the 600 block of Queens Road. According to an affidavit, she said hello to a man, who responded, “I am going to beat you.”

The affidavit also quotes him saying, “I am going to punch you.” The woman crossed the street and took a photograph from a distance, giving detectives an image they used to connect Sims to the Circle K incident.

Officers arrested Sims on Thursday, Oct. 1. He faces two counts of as*ault on a female in the Circle K case and one count of communicating threats in the Queens Road case. All three charges are misdemeanors.

At the time of those alleged incidents, Sims was already on pretrial release following a Sept. 19 arrest at the CATS Tyvola light rail station. Police say he threatened people on a train, threw an unknown substance on children and had no fare.

During that earlier encounter, Sims told officers he couldn’t remember where he was or what had happened. He did tell them he had picked up a rock “for his safety.” He was released from jail on Sept. 22.

For Stirrup, the consequences extend beyond her physical injuries. “I’m traumatized, not well, but I’ll get through it,” she said.

“It could have been a g*n,” she told WBTV. “I could be de*d, so I’m just grateful that it wasn’t anything worse.”

She said she wanted to speak up because of the risk to another person: “If I didn’t stand up for what happened to me, then he can do it to someone else.”

Woman with a prior violent criminal record arrested after stabbing a 7-year-old girl to death.

A 7-year-old girl was walking with her older sister on Chicago’s South Side today when a random 48 year old woman approached her and stabbed her multiple times, killing her.

The woman is in custody after bystanders initially detained her.

Jeromeyo Gibson, 32, stabbed a school teacher on a CTA bus last month.

The random attack of the 50 year old CPS teacher was not publicly disclosed by the Chicago police.

According to prosecutors:

* Gibson boarded the bus without paying, later pulled a knife from his duffle bag, and into an entirely unprovoked attack of the victim.

* The victim was stabbed 2 times in the neck and 3 times in the back.

* Gibson fled the bus, and jumped into a running car. The car owner tried to stop him, and was pulled to the ground.

* 15 minutes later, he drove into oncoming traffic, sideswiped a car, and fled on foot.

* Police caught him about 4 blocks away, and the duffle bag had a 6" knife in it.

* He allegedly told officers, "I know what I did… I stabbed an innocent White man… I took ol' boy's car."

Gibson's criminal history:

* 2017 Battery
* 2017 Simple assault
* 2018-2019 Criminal trespass, several times
* 2019 Retail theft
* 2019 Obstructing traffic
* 2019: burglary conviction. The arrest was for residential burglary in September 2019.
* 2022: multiple felony convictions for aggravated battery of peace officers, meaning he attacked cops.
* 2022: escape by a felon.

In almost every case he was out the same day or the next morning.

In July the state Department of Labor and Industries opened a case marked serious. The allegation was improper handling of hypodermic needles and fentanyl foil.

Andrea Suarez got the notice at We Heart Seattle, the group she started with $25,000 of her own money. She is its only direct employee.

The letter gave her 48 hours to turn in safety training materials, completion logs, and disciplinary records from the past six months. An anonymous complaint triggered the review, and an inspection can take up to 180 days.

Since 2020 the group says it has hauled more than 2,000,000 pounds of trash from parks and greenbelts. It also says it has helped 365 people off the street.

Two Starbucks employees who FOUGHT OFF ARMED ROBBERS AND HELD THEM FOR THE POLICE...

...were FIRED for "violating company policy" because they did not just comply.

They risked their lives to defend the store and customers... and Starbucks FIRED THEM for it.

This happened at a St. Louis Starbucks where 2 masked men walked in, pointed a gun, and demanded money.

Everyone hit the floor and one robber shoved a female employee to the ground.

A worker named Michael Harris tried to just give them the cash to make them leave. They pistol-whipped him in the back of the head.

Then his coworker Devin Jones-Ransom made a split-second decision and TACKLED the gunman into the drive-thru window.

The weapon broke... and they realized it was fake. They subdued the robber and held him for police.

Both robbers were convicted and they're sitting in prison right now BECAUSE of these two young men.

And a few weeks later, after the attention died down and Starbucks FIRED BOTH OF THEM.

The reason?

They "violated company policy" by not just complying to being robbed.

Just so we are clear... a man gets a gun smashed into his skull, fears for his life, fights back, helps put two armed robbers in prison...
