@BretWeinstein@jeffreytucker “Actually I quite liked it. . . . I thought that some of the metaphysical imagery was really particularly effective.” -Arthur Dent, thrown out of the airlock anyway
@walterkirn I’m just treating this as the tie in for Jacobsen’s book and Taylor’s song. It’s got a real spaceballs “where the real money from the movie is made” feel to it
@xenocosmography Blank slatists will not be (and may be incapable of being) convinced of that fundamental error in their model of humanity, and thus must be excluded from any position of power or authority. Easier said than done.
@walterkirn Subbed thank you. I miss the ATW lit discussions. You introduced me to Scoop by Evelyn Waugh which may be the most perfect book I’ve ever read.
@0rf Terrifying: I’m aware of at least one instance where this was used as a communication platform between a child predator and his would-be victim where their prior communication means was cut off.
Not many. This ideology precludes happiness in marriage because (as you know) it sees the husband and wife as competitors in a zero sum game for power in the family, with the husband in the role of oppressor and wife in the role of oppressed/victim. So even the “tradwife” actress will seek to dominate rather than support and appreciate her working husband. This is so even when the husband doesn’t know he’s in this game or that it exists.
Based on your McGuffey’s posts I bought a 1982 complete reprint set of the original 1836 version to use with my kids, and this is exactly what they’re for. I’m excited to work through them together. He even expressly encourages students calling each other out for mispronunciation of any syllable.
@planethunter56 Isn’t part of the issue that USG is releasing videos of “unidentified” objects, and not videos of objects that are known to it (but not the public)?
@walterkirn This is exactly what Karp from Palantir has been warning about and using as the business case for whatever Palantir’s offering: local model trained on your own data so you don’t have to worry about the big lab stealing your company’s IP
