Why Are Deepfake Scams So Successful?
In this video, we expose a disturbing new scam where AI deep fakes are being used to exploit trust and greed. A video surfaces of an influential person who appears to offer a “secret” way to multiply your money. It looks real. Sounds real. But it’s completely fake.
Using advanced AI technology, scammers match the face and voice of famous personalities to make their deepfake videos convincing. And then, they hit you with a deadly psychological mix:
✅ Authority – a known face builds instant trust.
✅ FOMO – “Everyone’s doing it, why not you?”
✅ Curiosity – “Just click to find out more…”
✅ Desperation – “This is your only chance!”
But there are ways to protect yourself:
⚠️ Be skeptical of unexpected money-making offers.
⚠️ Never click on links from unverified sources.
⚠️ Consult someone you trust before taking action.
⚠️ Educate your friends and family about deepfakes.
⚠️ Report suspicious content to the Deepfake Analysis Unit.
If you’ve already fallen for this:
🚫 Do not send more money—scammers will keep asking.
🚔 Contact your local cybercrime authorities immediately.
📂 Save evidence—screenshots, transaction details, chat history.
🔒 Deactivate or limit your social media exposure temporarily.
Here’s how these scams work: they target hundreds at once, only a few need to fall for it to make it profitable. Many of these offers come from places with weak cyber enforcement, making it harder to trace.
Don’t let scammers win. Watch, share, and protect others before they become the next victim.

**WARNING: SCAM ALERT!**
In our digital age, losing access to our WhatsApp accounts can be a nightmare.
Last month, a relative received a message from a friend asking for a code sent to her by mistake. Without any suspicion or doubt in their friendship, she shared the code that came on text. And guess what? She was logged out of her WhatsApp account, and the scammer was texting her contacts pretending to be her. They were asking for money or codes to also hijack their WhatsApp accounts. It’s even worse when this happens when you’re boarding a flight and you are in a hurry. The scammer had changed group settings where she was an admin and even changed the backup email ID so we couldn’t log back in. The folks at Meta were super helpful and restored her access.
So, what is this scam, how does it work, and why do we fall for it? Well, the good folks at @sakshamsenior have put together a video to explain it all. Share it with your parents, family, friends, and anyone who could benefit from this.
This one’s in English, but I’ve also included a Hindi video in my reply.
Scammers continually improve their tactics, but their strongest weapon is their ability to manipulate the victim's mind. However, with a little help, you can outsmart them!
