@TheDezembro@Awk20000 They love to strawman the argument and always act like it's about guys not wanting to play as all women in games. They also like to simultaneously act like the uglification of women in games doesn't exist but then also say it's what a woman looks like without makeup.
@Aeterniq@MikeyNohMore You now agree with what I said. You were implying, and we weren't discussing semantics. Was it that hard to admit you were wrong?
@Aeterniq@MikeyNohMore You are misusing the word "semantics." I'm pointing out your strawman fallacy. Semantics refers to the definition of a specific word. You implied additional words to OP's statement. That's two different things.
@Aeterniq@MikeyNohMore No, you're still implying words that were never said. It's fine to say "do you mean this?" but you never asked for clarification. Instead, you implied words, assuming that your words are the same. As a result, you created a strawman.
@streamingdeluxe@LateNightCandi_ Rather than showing an AI image, better to just show an image of her without makeup, since the counter argument is it's supposed to be her without makeup. Yet, she clearly looks better than the game without makeup.
Everyone loves avoiding the actual issue. My response to Tim Cain a month ago can be echoed today to anyone who is straw-manning the "ugly character" issue in Western games.

No one cried “uglification” and “masculinization of women” or “girl bosses” back in the day when characters like these were in different mediums🚀
Whether they were main or side characters, heroes or villains, people didn’t overanalyze and let their fantasizes make them look for or make up imaginary reasons preemptively hate things.
I’ve lived in a time when we didn’t read reviews or looked up artists’ profiles to know their political affiliations or what they said about whom 10 years prior or so.
We played games and watched movies and we made whatever we got out of them and we either loved them and replayed them or we moved on to something new.
I totally cannot relate to the mentality of wanting to be a crusader fighting for a made up fight over non-existent oppression🎤
@RinoTheBouncer You're straw-manning the argument. You should try to steelman the thesis of "the uglification of female characters" rather than misrepresent the point.

@RinoTheBouncer Control had 1 game. No different than Resident 2 having a new cast of characters. God of War has 5 mainline games (excluding side games) starring Kratos (the God of War). Control Resonant and GoW Laufey are not analogues.
@Muutumb0@RaveenousHD@Dexerto He probably feels ownership because he created the character. But he never owned the IP. He was an employee of Santa Monica Studio and that studio is owned by Sony. When you create something as an employee, the company owns the intellectual property, not the employee.
The benefit of using actors in video games is that they can look anyway you want them to. Voice actors aren't restricted to how they look in real life.
@SwitchUpG You think that's what she looks like without makeup? And what's the benefit of this look? This isn't even what women look like in fantasy movies and TV. It's also neglecting the strength of using CG assets.
