Funerals are times when the hearts are softened and eyes shed tears due to the loss of a loved one and attendees also shedding tears due to them reflecting over their return to Allāh عز وجل, funerals are not a place for joking and laughter!

Hayā (shame/modesty) is good and its absence is a deficiency in īmān. The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
“From the sayings of the early Prophets which has reached the people is: ‘If you have no shame, then do as you please!’” (Bukhārī 3483)

Ibn Rajab said:
❝O you who has grown grey yet has not repented for his sins; nor resolved to be upright or devote himself [to the religion], you have brought joy to Shaytān and angered Ar-Rahmān.❞

The Strength Of An Older Man
Shaykh Ul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
“A Shaykh (an older man, typically over 50), though his body may be weak, has a stronger understanding than a younger man.”
