I am so thankful for the opportunity to share my passion for Media Literacy on NPR’s Here and Now show. (Recording coming soon…)
It was quite an honor on my journey!❣️📡🥰🗒️💻📻☺️
Today, I had the distinct pleasure to discuss and present Media Literacy in my ECE classroom. Please check out Faith Rogow’s amazing publication.🥰

Hope you'll join me there. Doing 3 very different sessions: a NAEYC panel on #ECEMediaLit, a session on developing a scope & sequence for #MediaLiteracy ed, and a session on using media lit concepts as a foundation for culturally responsive teaching. Log on and say hello!
@mezehgrill When the person behind the counter is extremely rude to your child while ordering - it simply leaves an impression that makes one think about who is serving you and a bad taste. Shame on you Mezeh at National Harbor!!
@jmerrill14 All learners are unique. All parents need to be addressed gingerly. All teachers should consider how they want to be treated when addressing others. All differences in learning should be understood and considered. #tncohort
@jmerrill14 In my clinical practice, I have learned to think of my lessons in multi-faceted ways. Cross-curricula, universal design, differentiating needs of each learner while including 21st century approaches - reachable in every lesson.
@jmerrill14 I just had a troubling experience today with a parent, but took a breath and a break before replying, in order to understand her position and gain my composure not taking her issue personally. Teacher life is tough too.
@jmerrill14 This week, I learned how to think about the journey I have taken and how being this program has expanded my resources snd approach. I have gained a plethora of resources and information, as well as valuable feedback from Instructors and cohort members to grow my craft.
@jmerrill14 I really enjoy the PD’s I receive through Erikson ISTE, NSTA and NAEYC. The criiteria, collaboration and connections to my skill set are purposeful and help me to lead my students where they need to go.
